Star Wars: Legion is getting 2 new expansions with turrets on the way for Imperials and Rebels. Take a look at what they can do on the tabletop here soon.

Fantasy Flight Games announced two coming expansions for the game yesterday.

Rebel ground forces are constantly faced with the challenge of breaking through the heavy armor worn by most Imperial troopers, while avoiding the intense fire these units can send back at them. To compensate, units like the Rebel Troopers must rely on their elusiveness to dodge enemy attacks and stay in the fight long enough to secure their objectives.

At 70 points, a 1.4 FD Laser Cannon Team perfectly complements these troops by providing the cover fire they need to continue their operations, even while under heavy fire. The 1.4 FD laser cannon has a longer range than a standard unit of Rebel Troopers and, with a pool of five black attack dice, it packs quite a punch, making it more than capable of keeping enemy units at bay while your troopers are on the move.

Rebels will be getting a stationary laser team that you can deploy onto the field to act as a deterrent for the enemy. The only downside is that the turret is completely stationary. It has nice range but can not move. On top of that, it can only target units in its front-facing arc. If something manages to get by you, the crew can only use their DH-17s.

It’s going to be using black dice on its attack rolls so it can devastate things that come in range. Just remember to keep your turret rotated to get maximum value.

Imperial E-Web Heavy Support Blaster 19.95

To counter the Rebel’s Firepower, the Imperial E-web blaster is the 1.4FDs more mobile counterpart.  This turret squad and move and pivot before redeploying the turret. This can be tricky when trying to stay in cover from this thing. They can just redeploy the turret around the cover. The downside is that they can’t move and fire in the same turn.

The E-Web team’s position is even more important when you consider that its attack are fixed to its front arc, making it vulnerable to flanking maneuvers by enemy units. The team isn’t totally out of luck if a Rebel unit manages to get the drop on them, though. They can always use their E-11 blaster rifles to return fire with two white attack dice. Still, if you’ve laid your plans correctly, this won’t be too much of an issue, as the E-Web heavy blaster is surprisingly maneuverable once it’s in place. It can fully pivot when needed and can even reposition itself immediately before or after moving, ensuring that it will not easily be caught unawares.
