The Vulture Droids are swarming in X-Wing 2.0 and they have a linked intelligence that will have them out-flying the best pilots in the galaxy!
The Vulture Droids are swarming into X-Wing 2.0 and their linked intelligence will prove their might. The first up out of the hangar bay is DFS-081 and they fly much like a TIE Fighter, having 2 attacks, 2 agility, and 3 hull. What these ships lack in individual strength, they make up for in their abilities that synergize with each other. DFS-081 has a pilot ability that allows a friendly ship at range 0-1 to spend a calculate token when it defends to change all crit results to hit results. Since these ships have no shields, making all crits into hits can prevent those nasty faceup damage cards.
Each Vulture droid has a Networked Calculations ability that allows them to spend calculate tokens from other friendly ships at range 0-1 to change a focus result to either a hit or evade. The trick will be to keep these ships close together.
Next up is Haor Chall Prototype and he has an ability to get actions during your enemy ship’s attack step. After an enemy ship in Haor’s bulls-eye firing arc at range 0-2 declare another friendly ship as its target, Haor may perform a calculate or target lock action. It would be best to grab a calculate token to make use of Networked Calculations!
Precise Hunter will be the workhorse of this group with his precise hunting. While he is performing an attack and the defender is in his bulls-eye arc, he may re-roll 1 blank result. This acts as a free Predator upgrade and can go a long way in ensuring that the Vulture Droids can take down their prey effectively.
Vulture Droids will be packing a nice trick up their sleeve with this new upgrade, Grappling Struts! This upgrade effectively allows them to halt on an obstacle. While you execute a maneuver, if you overlap an obstacle and there are 1 or fewer friendly ships at range 0 of that obstacle, you may flip this card.
Once the Grappling Struts are open, things get really interesting. You get to ignore obstacle at range 0 and while you move through them. After you reveal your dial if you reveal a maneuver other than a 2 straight and are at range 0 of an obstacle, skip your Execute Maneuver step and remove 1 stress token; if you revealed a right or left maneuver, rotate your ship 90 degrees in that direction. This effectively allows your Vulture droids to park on an obstacle and treat it like a turret! What will these crazy droids think of next in X-Wing 2.0?
