Get ready to crush the Rebellion with this powerful new Victory Star Destroyer. Their pitiful defenses will not stop the Empire!
The workhorse of the Imperial fleet, the Victory Star Destroyer keeps on grinding through those pesky Rebel ships. This medium ship can destroy most small ships as well as other medium and large based ships if left unchecked. With a surprising amount of defense for its cost, the Victory-II can withstand a huge amount of damage before going down. This build will make it so that the Vic-II won’t go down without dealing some serious damage to the enemy fleet.
A new upgrade leaked from the upcoming Super Star Destroyer expansion, Emperor Palpatine is an officer that will make the enemy suffer for targeting whichever ship he is on. When an enemy ship or unique squadron declares you as the target of an attack, it must spend 1 of its defense tokens. Every attack on the Victory-II will weaken the enemy’s defense tokens, and can set them up for some serious counter-attacks.
To keep up the defense token barrage, NK-7 Ion Cannons on the Vic-II can make your enemy ships have a bad day. As a blue crit, NK-7s allow you to exhaust its card to force the defender to choose and discard 1 of his defense tokens.
Large ships have a throwaway defense token in the Contain, but other medium and even small based ship will feel the pain when having to discard their defense tokens and content with the Emperor on the Vic-II. Their defenses are dwindling!
Boarding Troopers is a great upgrade for the Emperor Vic-II for enemies that get within close-range. When you reveal a command, you may spend a squadron dial, or token, and Boarding Troopers to choose 1 enemy ship at close range; you may spend a number of its defense tokens up to your squadron value (in the case of the Vic-II that’s 3). This will cripple any small or medium ship before you even attack with your full battery!
Another defense token targeting weapons upgrade is Heavy Turbolaser Turrets. This upgrade specifically singles out the Brace defense token effect and makes it so that the brace cannot reduce the damage total by more than 1 unless it is the only token spent by the defender during the attack.
What this does is set your target up for a follow up from another of your ships, like a Demolisher Gladiator, to finish them off. Get ready to have your opponent spend all of their defense tokens, before you even attack, with the Emperor’s new ride!
