A Ghost of Tsushima movie is in the works with the director from the John Wick movies at the helm- check it out!
While most video game adaptations have been, shall we say, not always the best… With Chad Stahelsk at the helm, we hope for something good. Especially with how great all the Wick movies have been so far, we have some high hopes for this. The game was a serious PS4 standout, and with plenty for a movie to go off, let’s hope they do it justice.
The game has reached over 6.5 million sales since its release just last July, so there will be plenty of fanfare for the movie. The news of Stahelsk as director came from Deadline, but he’s not the only one confirmed for the project.
Ghost of Tsushima Movie Coming with John Wick Director
The game was developed by Sucker Punch Productions and Peter Kang will oversee the movie on behalf of the studio. For Executive Producers, Alex Young and Jason Spitz with their company 87Eleven Entertainment will also be on the project. Let’s hear a little from Asad Qizilbash, Head of PlayStation Productions about the upcoming film:
We’re excited to be partnering with Chad and 87Eleven Entertainment, to bring their vision of Jin’s story to the big screen. We love working with creative partners like Chad, who have a passion for our games, ensuring we can create rich adaptations that will excite our fans and new audiences.
Let’s just hope they actually put the time into it and don’t just rush it and try to take advantage of the giant player base. But with the Director of John Wick at the helm, how bad could it be…?
Are you excited about a movie based on the game? Will you watch it?
