Another off-meta Warhammer 9th Edition 40k army list emerged in the Holiday Havoc RTT, check this one out!
9th Edition’s meta is again in flux, but some players are taking lists with units that nobody was expecting. Check out this awesome homebrew list that emerged in a tournament over the weekend. This just goes to show us that sometimes it’s more about the general’s skill than what you play.
Top Homebrew 40k Army List: Holiday Havoc RTT

However, we aren’t covering all those lists, instead, we will be looking at just one of our favorites this week.
8th Place: Brian Cullen – Necrons
Brian started off with the top dog himself, The Silent King, which is jam-packed with fantastic support abilities and ain’t have bad on his own in combat either. Overall it’s a fantastic model and that’s why most Necron lists seem to like running him.
The rest of the list is inside an Outrider led by a Command Barge and a Technomancer. The Barge has good movement, buffs ally movement, and is pretty durable, while the Technomancer helps by reanimating Necrons and floating around the field thanks to its Canoptek Cloak.
The only troop choice is a 20 man Necron Warrior squad, which serves as fodder for protection and can help secure objectives. They also can be reanimated reliably thanks to the Technomancer, assuming they don’t get wiped out completely.
Elites start with a single Plasmascythe, which is most likely just to round out points, and a 6 man unit of Destroyers, which are fantastic melee threats.
Fast Attacks keep it simple with a total of 6 Scarab Swarms and 5 Wraiths. Both of which are great at tieing up enemy ranged units or soaking wounds, however, the Wraiths are significantly better at melee combat.
Lastly, there are Heavy Support in a Doomsday Ark and 7 Lokhust Destroyers. The Doomsday Ark is essentially a flying tank with fantastic shooting and great mobility, while the Lokhust Destroyers are some of the best anti-armor ranged threats the Necrons have access to.
