Daemon Primarch: Magnus Painted By Stiff Neck Studio

Magnus FeatureDon’t miss this insane Magnus the Red painted by the commission studio with only one level, Stiff Neck Studios!.

Rob picked up the commissioned Magnus from Stiff Neck Studio awhile back, and it looks amazing! Magnus is a huge model that can be assembled and painted in plenty of ways. Let’s check out all the details with Rob.

From a glance, we can get a huge sense of all the glow effects and transitions all over the model. The balance of the color choices is also great. The glowing blues and purples will match up perfectly with almost any Tzeentch army.

When you look at the globe you can actually see some freehand… It resembles Earth! A nice touch that really adds to the scale of Magnus and the testament to the painter’s skill. The skin is also hyper-highlighted. Meaning you can see muscles and skin texture all over him, which is no small feat.

The armor details are great as well. The glows are seamless and transition well while the gold is also done to a high level. No simple wash and done here, they went the extra mile. If you want to see what else they can do, go check out some of their other stuff here.

Another huge detail point on Magnus is his wings and feathers. Each of the wings not only has great color transitions and even some glow aspects but where it is permitted, they are also highlighted. The amount of time to highlight feathers is something that I would never have the patience to do, but boy, does it look great.

And lastly, yes it is based. Nothing too crazy, a solid base for a great model. The model is clearly the focal point as it should be, and SNS always has some sort of promo for resin bases when you have them paint your minis!

That’s it for this one, be sure to check out SNS for your own commission needs and watch the full video below for more of Rob’s insights! Commissioned models provided in exchange for this showcase promotion.
