Give some forgotten models the paint jobs they deserve. Jack of Clubs is bringing you guys a great tutorial on how to save eBay models!
Jack of Clubs is here today to teach about eBay rescues! Grabbing some unloved models off of eBay is a great way to practice your painting skills. This also gets those unloved models on the tabletop and ready for action. Today, a rescued Imperial Guard Commissar is our painting test subject.
A little StynlreZ Black Primer airbrush primer gets our rescued Commissar a nice base coat to start. Next, to get his royal blue uniform started, grab some Pro Acryl Dark Neutral Grey and Dark Blue. A 50/50 mix will make a very dark, navy blue base coat. After that, use a little more Dark Neutral Grey to highlight some details on or Commissar.
Basecoat the Commissar gloves with the Dark Neutral Grey. Whenever you are painting something white, you build up your color through greys. This creates an optical illusion that resembles a smooth white color, without using any white! This can be achieved by using Light Neutral Grey in a few thin coats over the Dark Neutral Grey.
Pro Acryl Dark Blue gets our Commissar boots and armor pieces started. An airbrush highlight of Pro Acryl Pants Blue will bring out some vibrant blue hues. Pro Acryl Faded Ultramarine adds even further highlights to our blue boots and armors to pop our blue even more.
Pro Acryl Burnt Red will help base coat our Commissar medals and hat. To get a great base coat for his flesh and skin, use some Pro Acryl Shadow Flesh. Paint up his weapon with some metallics and give him some brass to rescue another model from eBay!
