A Space Wolf Captain should have an awesome power ax in order to battle Xenos and heretics. Take a look at this unique green power weapon scheme!
Lightning power effects can be really neat and add a unique flair to models. They can be done in different colors as well. Take a look at this quick overview of how to paint green lightning effects. Be sure to check out the video below for the entire tutorial!
Starting with P3 Necrotite Green, load the airbrush and carefully blast on a few energy patterns over parts of the ax, covering the model with a shield. Blotchy effects are fine as this is the glow pattern for the lightning.
Next, load a paintbrush with Flash Gitz Yellow by Games Workshop and lightly apply small lines through the green. Create forks in the lines, and do not look for straight lines. Experiment at this point with the mix of paint and water, plus however the forks look. Go back over and be sure all lines are connected. Apply more yellow to where the forks touch to brighten up the lightning.
Finally, once the lightning is highlighted to your liking, apply a light burst of green over the ax once again. This applies a filter over the initial lightning. Then, with your brush, add more lightning as desired and edge highlight the ax.
Use both yellows and whites to edge, as this will have more of a power effect. Again, go over the lightning a bit to highlight more of the streaks. The final highlight should be with pure white to hit the sharpest points of the lightning.
There you have it, easy way of getting lightning effects in a unique green color. Now your power ax is ready to strike down some heresy! Be sure to watch the entire tutorial by pressing play on the video below!
