Next Level Painting just got a new airbrush, so why not honor the Black Legion with a video tutorial?! This Lord Discordant will be ready with a new paint job.
Yo dawgs! Next Level Painting is back to show you hobby maniacs how to paint up the Lord Discordant in Black Legion heraldry. This model is super impressive and we wanted to do it up right by painting it to honor Chaos and the Warmaster himself. Let’s get right to it!
First off Kenny got his hands on the GSI Creos Airbrush from Spaygunner. It’s a great little airbrush that rivals the Iwata Eclipse.
After all-black matte priming, grab some more black with Pro Acryl Coal Black. Painting over with black on black will keep continuity in our paint scheme. We will shift our highlights to create an interesting direction for our black. Our next color is a Pro Acryl Jade mixed in with the previous black.
The Jade will add a slight color shift to our existing black as a highlight. We focus on the feet and center mass highlights of the armor. As you apply your paint, it will be more vibrant, but remember that the color will fade out as it dries.
Keep your airbrush at a distance to keep the paint thin. We don’t have to be precise right now, but as we tighten up the highlight, you want to bring your airbrush in closer. Pro Acryl Sky Blue will add another layer onto our existing highlights. You can even add a drop of grey to keep the blue desaturated.
We mainly focus on our airbrush techniques to keep our Black Legion theme going strong. Keep your airbrushing slow and steady and you will improve your hobby skills.
