At the request of a client, this Thousand Sons army was painted up in an Egyptian theme. Freehand sketching on the tanks captures the Egyptian hieroglyphs very well. It took four artists to complete this army, painting it to completion in about a week.
The key to success for White Metal Games is consistency training. What this entails is the studio head will paint one miniature and the rest of the painters will follow the steps of that exact mini to get a consistent paint job. This technique helps them paint a whole army with a paint scheme that matches consistently.
The conversions on the tanks look superb, worthy enough for the Dark Sorcerers of Tzeentch. The painting level is higher on the tanks to capture the menacing onslaught as the advance on the tabletop. The Daemon Prince is channeling Tzeentch with his converted Lord of Change head and Mortarian’s Lantern pistol!
The basing is completed with a warm color to contrast the cool blue hue of the army. Vallejo Textured Mud was used to achieve this effect and painted up with a good dry brushing. Tzeentch is pleased with this army and White Metal Games is the one to take the credit!
