Sharpie Tutorial

Painting the trim on the armor of your tabletop miniatures can be the most time-consuming step when you are painting. It doesn’t have to be that way! For this example, we have an armor plate from an AT Warlord Titan. The trim on the armor can be very difficult and time-consuming to paint, if not paint neatly. So we use a Sharpie to get those spots.

Very lightly touch your Sharpie tip to the areas you want to paint, in this case, a Copper color.  Remember to always store your Sharpie pens tip down so you can keep your tip wet with paint.

A good technique to help you not smear the paint is to do half of your miniature, then move to the other half after it is dry. Try not to smear your Sharpie paint over your previous paint job with your fingers as you hold the parts.  Doing these armor plates in batches should ensure enough dry time across all the parts!

Once you have used your Sharpie for all the spots you want to hit, grab your paintbrush to finish off the few hard to reach areas shown above and below!
