Looks like there are more Warcry releases of some kind are coming for Warhammer in the near future, but how new are they?
More port scrying has been done and it looks like GW has more no the way to Warcry, but what could we be looking at exactly?
Spotted in the forums on DakkaDakka from user DaveC, we’ve got an image of a shipping manifest for more Warcry. If you’ve been keeping track of the recent online previews, you’ll know that we’ve also just seen the Scions of the Flame. So what are we looking at?
RUMORS: New Warcry Releases Spotted For 2020?
Here’s what we’ve got to go off of. The first thing that might stick out to you is the TABLE GAME SET. With Scions of the Flame revealed, it almost makes you wonder if they’ll be coming in a big Box Set release with another faction further down the line. While that’s entirely possible, it looks like (at least for this shipping manifest), we’ve got the answer right in front of our eyes and it may not be a box set at all.
If you look carefully, it says “Retail Trade Warcry OP4 2020“. For all previous GW shipments that have had “OP” in the manifest, it’s turned out to be an Organized Play kit. It looks like this isn’t the first time we’ve seen GW talk about an Organized play kit coming to Warcry either.
WHC Announced Organized Play Kits Coming to Warcry in November 2019
We saw Warhammer Community put out an article back in November of 2019 saying that this Organized Play kit would be on the way for stores soon Here are some pics of what that kit entailed…
With an “OP 2020” shipment hitting the ports after seeing an Organized Play announcement from GW at the tail end of 2019, it appears that what we’re looking at isn’t going to be some hidden release for Warcry Warbands. Rather, it’s just another way to get Warcry kicked off at your LGS once we get past the crisis.
With this on the table, what do you think about the Organized Play kit contents? Would you like to see a Warcry Starter Box similar to its first release?
