Horus Heresy LIVES! Come see more exclusive new release pics for Warhammer 40k, Horus Heresy, and Age of Sigmar from Warhammer Fest 2018
Sablenah is live from the floor of Warhammer Fest and sent us some pictures just as fast as he could get them. Check out the latest from Forge World and beyond!
New Necron Construct:
Simply titled Necron Construct, according to Games Workshop:
Forge World’s range of sinister Necron Canoptek constructs is being joined by this monster – an Imperial Knight-sized crawler that looks like an ambitious Cryptek decided to build a Tomb Spyder as large as a Tesseract Vault. And it’s armed to the mandibles with esoteric weaponry.
New Imperial Releases 40k / HH
Looks like the missile Variant for the Deredeo has finally been spotted. It’s unclear if this will make the jump from Horus Heresy to 40k or not.
Forge World retake on the classic Rogue Trader Speeder looks to already have a ton of variants. Here’s a good shot for scale, and the official work below from GW:
Another fan favorite, that was not in attendance as of Day One of the event, is the Dreadnought Drop Pod. They showed off a computer render but we dug up the preview from a few months ago to compare the two:
And the render from Warhammer Fest:
Judge for yourself, as Games Workshop remarked:
This is more than just a re-tool of the old kit – as well as featuring more detail, it’s been re-designed to be larger and can now convincingly carry a Contemptor Dreadnought.
There will also be a new Imperial Armor book that focuses on the Talons of the Emperor that will update rules for these factions into 40k
With datasheets for using your Forge World Adeptus Custodes, an expanded list of units for the Grey Knights, and rules for using your Sisters of Silence as a standalone army, this book is going to be a treat for Imperium players .
Currently, we are still waiting for the Fires of Cyracus book that has been previewed for the last two years and looks to feature Tau, Mechanicum / Mechanicus, and Red Scorpions (Space Marines)
Horus Heresy:
There seemed to be more on the Horus Heresy side of things that 40k to be honest, which is to be expected releases wise from Forge World.
Forge World also gave us the first tantalising details on the highly anticipated eighth book of the Horus Heresy campaign series. Having undergone some changes, we can now confirm that the title of the book is Malevolence – inside, you’ll find rules for the Blood Angels and White Scars, additional details on the Alpha Legion and Space Wolves, Daemons of the Ruinstorm and much more.
We also got a peek at the Mechanicum Knight Acastus – first previewed at the Horus Heresy & Necromunda Weekender, this titanic Knight answers the question “what if you combined the Acastus Knight Porphyrion with even more barely understood and horrifying techno-weaponry from the Age of Darkness?”:
Two new Alpha Legion Praetors (or are they?) were previewed as well
Two previous special Characters were spotted as well:
Anacharis Scoria in all his horrifying glory. This guy makes your average Tech-Priest look frankly conservative in their choice of bionics – a gaunt, skittering mechanical tyrant who looks like the cross between a Defiler, an Onager Dunewalker and an ancient magus. Anacharis Scoria is one of the first ever models exploring the sinister Dark Mechanicum and is a treat for collector’s who’ve been waiting for this sinister organisation to be brought to life.
Jenetia Krole, commander of the Sisters of Silence and one of the greatest champions of the Talons of the Emperor, if not the Imperium itself:
Age of Sigmar:
Not too many updates here except for the Dragon that has been in production for several years is coming roaring to life:
The Khorne Lord on Dragon is the biggest Warhammer Age of Sigmar kit EVER – a towering and intimidating monster that’ll be the perfect addition to any Khorne army. In the past, Forge World has brought some of the 41st Millennium’s most massive inhabitants to life, and the cosmic scope of the Mortal Realms has allowed them to do the same thing for Warhammer Age of Sigmar.
New Paints look to make painting up the new Nighthaunts Army a breeze!
And a great parting shot of Alpharius to lead us out into the next update:
Overall it seems like both Horus Heresy and 40k will be getting some love and support release-wise in the coming months. Age of Sigmar also has a ton of releases lined up with the New Edition, as their resin dragon finally emerges from its slumber.
