Win with these new 2021 Chapter Approved secondary objectives for Warhammer 40k as we slide into gaming again!
We’ve recently seen a little bit of what would be changing with the secondaries, but thanks to Imgur, we have all of them! If you’ve been wondering what would be changing, there are some big updates, so be sure to pay attention.
With these changes, hopefully, it will mean armies can have a little bit of diversity in way of what they actually choose. Let’s hope they will continue to be a little more diverse as well, with some new ways to score points.
40k Chapter Approved Secondary Objectives Rules
There are a few good options here for people who just want to kill as many enemy minis as possible, with Grind Them Down and No Prisoners. To The Last is interesting, if you have a few units you think won’t die. But it feels really hard to achieve other than for some armies like DG or Custodes because they have to survive the whole battle.
That also means you will probably play them less aggressively. The other objectives for controlling the board are always a good choice if you can actually achieve them.
Deploy Teleport Homer is a big change and seems like it will be somewhat hard to score. Because you’ll have to run up to your opponent’s deployment zone and then have them just sit there.
If you have some tough bikers or infantry though, and they can sit there for a couple of turns, you can score a lot of points. Even if they sit there for two turns in the deployment zone, you get 8 points- winning!

Abhor the Witch and Bring it Down will still be taken a lot. Against armies with tanks or Psykers, this is just so easy to score- even if your opponent has three vehicles with 11+ wounds you can score 6 VP for just killing something you would want anyways.
What do you think about the changes? What’s your favorite new 40k chapter approved 2021 secondary objective?
