Chaos is quite strong in this new edition. This list is amazing, and it doesn’t deal with the typical Magnus + Brimstone spam.
Why haven’t you heard of it? A clerical error…
Alan Bajramovic’s chaos list from the last major GT is a nice list that handles the meta perfectly. People like 100+ meat shield, this list kills 80 per turn like it’s just another day at the office. The only caveat with the actual list is that, well, it’s not typed in properly.
The Plan:
It’s Friday, 10PM: Berserker and character bros all ride shotgun in the Kharybdis Assault Claw.
11PM: they drop at this fancy club, Your Face, and now the party is really started.
#lit #turntup
So for everyone not speaking millennial: you get these nasty guys that re-roll charges, fight twice in a pod, wreck you some meat shield units and clear the way to warptime the Kharybdis Assault Claw close to characters ( we talk about this strategy here ) and wham-bam-value-town. The cultists can shoot twice to clear a hole for Berserkers, and the Berserkers can open up a lot room for the Slaanesh Terminators to mop up by shooting twice. It’s hard to assess board control over over that many guys in your face, while the Brimstones and Nurglings are just chilling on objectives.
The Problem: The Kharybdis Assault Claw has all the wrong options, as it needs to carry models from either the same Legion or same Mark as it.
Oh bummer. No Berserker should be left walking across the board.
Here’s the corrected list:
Battalion:
- Sorceror, MOT, Warptime, Invocation
- Sorceror, MOS, Agonies, Prescience
- Malefic Lord
- Nurglings
- Brimstones
- Brimstones
- Kharybdis Assault Claw MOK
WORLD EATER BATTALION
- Exalted Champ, Power Axe,
- Chaos Lord, Jump Pack, Talisman of Burning Blood, Power Axe
- 7 Berserkers Icon of Wrath
- 7 Berserkers Icon of Wrath
- 10 Cultists, MOK
Alpha Legion Battalion
- Lord Arkos
- Sorceror, Jump Pack, MOS, Prescience, Warptime
- 30 Cultists MOS
- 10 Cultists MOS
- 10 Cultists MOS
- 5 Terminators, MOS, Combi Plasmas
This is the simplest correction, just swapping the pod to the proper mark. This way, you can have Berserkers and Sorcerer cruising in there before their fun night on the town.
The story of the the latest Invitational finals will live in infamy for many years, with one player conceding before 1st turn was even played. But we can only wonder what if the list was working as intended…
