Arc40k featureAustralia’s oldest Warhammer 40k tournament is taking things to the next level for its 25th-anniversary event!

The Arc40k tournament has run for the last 24 years, and if you haven’t been to one of the events, this might just be the one you have to attend. Obviously, you’ll have to be in Australia for it, but it might be a good time to schedule a vacation!

However, even if you can’t make it, the Legends & Lore YouTube Channel will be live streaming the event to the entire world, which is just really cool.

This year they will be adding the ArcOpen, which is an open-style painting competition, that is currently being put together by Australian Golden Demon Winner Andrew Long!

That’s just the tip of the iceberg, though, as they are planning on being the biggest event in Australia this year!

Australia’s Oldest Warhammer 40k Tournament Going Big for 25!

Arc40k 2Their goal is to fill the arena with 220 players, and this will mark the biggest event ever in history, as the previous was the 2011 Arc40k with 200 players. If you want to check out all the info on the tournament, go check out their site here.

The event will run from Saturday 4 & Sunday 5 March 2023, at the Batman Royale, so if you want to participate in the fun, do not forget to block that out on your calendars!

Let’s hear from them about the event a little:

This coming year we are celebrating our 25th Anniversary. So our aim is to make it the biggest event it can be, our venue can hold 220 players. This will be a significant milestone in Australian wargaming as the previous highest event was Arc40k 2011 where the event hosted 200 players. With the history and tradition of the event, we believe it will be the biggest ever in Australia.

Arc40kNow a little more about the new painting competition:

ArcOpen aims to inspire and challenge everyone to improve and invest in working to present their best. Rather than competing against other entrants in a shootout for a limited number of awards, we will recognize the attainment of quality and effort.

There are no first, second, or third places at the ArcOpen. Instead, our judges will use their time to grade achievement – basing their decisions on the standard of the work and at the end which pieces deserve to be recognized as Gold, Silver, and Bronze level awards.
