blackstone preview 3 blackstone fortress terminatorr 40k Point Values Revealed for New Blackstone Fortress

Blackstone Fortress is coming with a whole band of adventurers to choose from. Check out how each character plays in the game, for clues to their 40k rules.

Games Workshop gave us some brief insight on how the characters will play in Blackstone Fortress. It’s almost got kind of a D&D feel to it. Each character is really good at one thing and has a unique playstyle from all the others. Take a look at the latest preview and see which one you’ll be bringing into the dark fortress.

Rein & Raus

rein and raus

Rein and Raus are a pair of Ratling twins that work off of each other. They are one of the more unique sets of adventurers because they can operate separately from each other. They are a bit tricky to use as Rein tracks things with his scanner and Raus snipes them when the enemy pops up. If you like using one-two step combos to drop enemies like a well-oiled machine, these guys may be perfect for you.

UR-025

ur-025

UR-025 is a mechanical anomaly in the 41st millennium. With that said, being a mechanical walker makes you extremely tough against small-arms fire. UR-025 is definitely the tank of Blackstone Fortress. You should put him at the front of the party and act as a shield for the rest of your team. He can’t be too bad at dishing out pain either as it looks like he’s got a pseudo-assault cannon on his left arm.

UR-025 is actually on the mission into Blackstone Fortress to discover the sentience behind the drones.

UR-205’s past that may be revealed as you play. UR-025 is interested not in the Blackstone Fortress itself, but the seemingly sentient constructs that inhabit it.

Dahyak Grekh

dahyak grekh

Kroot are notorious for eating what they kill. The Tau have actually had to tell them to stop eating certain things more than a few times. Looking at Dahyak Grekh, he is the Hunter/Gatherer of the group. There are “resource points” in the game that players can use to reroll dice and gather treasure. Dahyak has a unique ability to get more of those resource points than anyone else in the game because…he eats his foe and gains their knowledge.

He’s full of utility and value potential.

Amallyn Shadowguide

amallyn shadowguide

Amallyn is the sniper of the group. She performs best at the extremes of combat (either far away or up close and personal). She can pop heads down hallways or slice and dice almost anything that bum rushes her from around a corner.

Amallyn actually wanted to go to the Blackstone Fortress to save her craftworld Biel-Tan with the use of ancient technologies found inside its halls.

Pious Vorne

pious vorne

Pious Vorne is the DPS of the group. She maxed her stats in damage output and forgot about armor. She is without a doubt a glass cannon. Anything that gets too close to her will get set ablaze in holy Prometheum only before being ripped to shreds by her underslung chainsword. She is mobile and can even set traps for her enemies to spring.

She’s just an old hive ganger that went to Blackstone Fortress to burn some Heretics as a missionary…that’s her lore.

The Purifier, Taddeus

taddeus the purifier

Taddeus is a Ministorum Priest brought to the Blackstone Fortress by a holy vision seen in the burning remains of a particularly impertinent Imperial Navyman. Taddeus hopes to bring the Imperial Cult to Precipice, as well as purging any taint from the Blackstone Fortress itself.

He is the priest/paladin of the adventurers. He comes with an invaluable healing skill and can also mollywhop a fool if he gets too close.  Oh..his servo skull also has a flamer.

Espern Locarno

espern locarno

The Blackstone Fortress is filled with treasures of ages past – and the Navigator Houses are interested in getting ahold of some of these. Espern Locarno is a sanctioned mutant tasked with rediscovering cargos which belong to his house by ancient right – as well as technologies to refine the ill-understood processes of warp travel.

You might not want to take him without all of the other vital roles covered first. Get your tank, your DPS, and your healer…Then take Espern. He plays a huge support role by using psychic powers to shield teammates and pull enemies around the map.

And last but not least…

Janus Draik

janus draik

Janus is the Rogue Trader that has been, like all other Rogue Traders, tasked with expanding the Imperium’s influence in the galaxy. Blackstone Fortress serves as another “feather in his cap” to build his reputation even further as he looks for other ancient relics.

Janus is the jack of all trades. There isn’t anything he’s especially weak in, but he most certainly excels in close combat. If you’re a new player and want to get a feel for the game, Janus is perfect for the job.
