The California 40k Team Championship happened over the weekend with teams of players bringing their individual scores together!
The tournament is over and now we’re able to look at which lists managed to secure a place at the top! Check out what the winners brought in their armies.
Again this week we decided to grab our 3 favorite lists instead because the actual top was mostly Ad Mech and Dark Eldar lists we’ve seen plenty of times before.
Favorite Army Lists: California Team Championship 40K GT
Thanks to Best Coast Pairings we are able to look back at the event as if we were there ourselves. Before we get into the lists, let’s look a little at how the tournament setup worked with teams of players working together to get the gold:
- Each team was made up of five players, where each plays their own separate games.
- Each team could bring a coach if they wanted, or the coach could be a person playing.
- Only one player could draw from Codex: Space Marines.
- The team with the most individual wins won the event.
Overall a really cool format, let’s jump into the armies!
Daniel Reddehase- Nurgle
Coming in with 5 wins this army was really cool to see for one main reason, Be’lakor! People seemed not sure how he would play, but according to this pretty well.
The army was rounded out with a bunch of Nurglings, some Furies, and of course some big hitters in the form of Dreads and Deathshroud Terminators. Overall a really cool list with a ton of Daemons from Poxwalkers to Nurglings.
Logan Heath – Death Guard
Unfortunately for this army, the Deathshroud Terminators were a bit degenerate, but at least the Poxwalkers were potent. This army made use of a lot of Poxwalkers and Spawns to tie the enemy up, some Deathsdhroud to tear them apart, and some Plagburst Crawlers to eat them up at range.
Luke Scianna- Adeptus Custodes
It’s always good to see Custodes do well because who doesn’t love them? This list took advantage of a ton of speed with 10 bikes overall. The troops are sturdy with a bunch of foot soldiers and only a single Telemon to back them up. Looks like the toughness of the Custodes held true this time.
Exploding 6’s to hit in melee from the Dread Host special rule ain’t too shabby either for the lances, and guardians’ blades.
What do you think about all three of these most recent lists? Do you like seeing Be’lakor do well?
