With the Lord Of Hate model out there, we were curious just how a mortal becomes a Daemon Prince. The transformation can’t be pleasant, but it seems to be worth it for the champions who want nothing more than power. Get out your energy drink and gain some power with us as we dive into the Daemon Prince Lore!
Hey, Look At Me!
The only way to barter your humanity away for unlimited power and immortality is by garnering the attention of the Gods Of Chaos. This is no easy feat, as thousands of Chaos Space Marines constantly fight for their attention. In order to attract their gaze, the Champions of Choas must perform horrible and great deeds.
The Real Housewives would be proud of the backstabbing that goes on in the quest for power. They sacrifice enemies and allies alike for their own ambitions. They care not how many have to die as long as their chosen Choas God sees their deeds. To be chosen you have to have a singular focus on nothing but ascension.
Surviving The Ritual
Garnering the attention is one thing, surviving the spawning is something else altogether. The majority of champions who give up their humanity for immortality die before it even begins. Their bodies undergo rapid growth and they start generating at a frightening rate. Their minds and bodies become horribly ravaged in a matter of seconds.
The ones who do survive start displaying insane mutations immediately. Most grow wings larger than their original bodies and horns fit for a rhinoceros. Depending on what god they follow, they are giving many extra gifts and different mutations. But the one thing they all share is size. Almost every Daemon Prince is a hulking beast many times the size of a Marine. Once you transition there is no going back. They are mutated to something wholly new and unrecognizable. The one thing they keep is their endless drive for power and cunning.
Rulers Of Worlds
Not only are they granted unlimited power, but the majority of Daemon Princes are also granted domain over a Daemon World. Their mortal followers often follow them to this new world and launch their assaults from there. If you’re following a champion who becomes a Daemon Prince, be ready to move.
The oldest among them have been around since before ancient earth was destroyed. Such Princes wield immeasurable power. Enough to kill entire worlds by themselves when they need to. As such ancient beings, they have earned the privilege to rule over countless warriors and legions.
Sometimes, when it strikes their fancy, they leave the mortal realm altogether. When they want to advance even further in their career they go to serve under a Greater Daemon. Once there they are given command of large Daemonic Legions. Despite all of their newfound power they are still often looked down upon by their new masters because of their lowly human origins. Even though many have slain daemons to prove their worth.
This was just a quick overview of how one becomes a Daemon Prince. It is a long hard road that takes centuries to achieve. Not for the faint of heart!
