Games Workshop has slashed Warhammer 40k “want numbers” to stores for the upcoming new Death Guard and World Eaters products.
Updated on April 25th 2025, by Rob Baer with the latest from local games stores.
It looks like allocations are back for the new Warhammer 40k Chaos releases, and while these aren’t the worst allocations we’ve seen (Games Workshop calls them “caps”), they will make finding the new Death Guard Lord of Poxes and World Eaters Slaugherborn model difficult.
All the stores and groups we polled in our network of retailers reported that their orders were once again slashed numbers-wise for many of the new releases this week, lending more thought to the fact that there really doesn’t seem to be any traditional “new releases” available from Games Workshop anymore.
Here’s the latest on what you may be able to find for this week’s pre-orders now.
Games Workshop Allocations
Here are the caps that were told to stores:
- New Death Guard and World Eaters battleforces numbers slashed to single digits
- Emperor’s Children Combat Patrol Boxes are barely much better
- Same goes for the store release of LT. Titus
- Death Guard and World Eaters Combat Patrols seem unaffected
So, if you were hoping to stroll into your local shop and snag a Lord of Poxes without a fight, you might want to start sharpening your elbows or brushing up on your bartering skills.
What it All Means
Well, that’s just the state of things—fewer Chaos goodies to go around than there are Nurglings in a plague cauldron. For Games Workshop its just business as normal depending on who you ask.
We’re not saying it’s a full-on Heresy-level crisis, but let’s just say the allocation gods are clearly worshipping at the altar of scarcity this week. Between the tiny numbers and vanishing “new release” fanfare, it’s getting harder to tell if it’s launch day or just a cleverly disguised rerun.
