New Kill Team On The Way
If you missed this at the very end of the last GW preview event, well take a few seconds to watch the only 40k content from the whole stream:
There’s no mistaken that lovely face, it’s a Flayed One. However, why is it in a Kill Team trailer and why hasn’t the Flayed One plastic kit released yet?
Back In Stock For a Limited Time!
Whatever this Kill Team release is, it’s coming in 2021. Safe money is a new revamp to work with 9th Edition, as well as some Battlezone that may contain other characters and units like the Flayed Ones…
Let’s hope we see the plastic Flayed One kit before then!
Kill Team as a vehicle to release 40k models?
In the past, we’ve seen GW use Kill Team boxes as a way to release new models. Such as this guy:
If you remember this release, you might recall the stir it made. It was only available in the GSC Kill Team box, but this model, the Kelermorph, was an all-star in 40k. In turn, it made a ton of demand for the Kill Team box, even if many people didn’t want to play Kill Team and just wanted the model.
New Flayed One Model from previous teasers
Could we see that with Necrons? Well knowing how GW likes to rebox their releases, probably. Unfortunately for new Necron players, there are three model releases left for Necrons that we know of. Two variants of Crypteks and the new Flayed Ones kit. Both of which could be conveniently packaged together in a Necron Kill Team box.
Judging by the teaser video with the Flayed One, it is probably more likely than we would like to admit that the Flayed ones will be locked to this set, at least at first…
Although Kill Team is great and enjoyable, it’d be nice if there weren’t restrictions on how you can get your favorite models…
What do you think about Flayed Ones coming to Kill Team? Do you think it’ll be a repeat Kelermorph situation?
