There may have been a few Necron combos GW didn’t like, as they dropped a quick FAQ for the 10th Edition Warhammer 40k codex.
If you’ve been playing for a while, you know the drill. The codex has been out for about a month or so, and that means it’s time for an FAQ. Luckily, this one is pretty small; however, despite its size, it has some pretty huge effects. Whether you play Necrons (or against them a lot), this is quite important as the main combo people have been using is gone for good, it would seem. On top of that, there are also some small clarifications.
Games Workshop Drops New 10th Edition Warhammer 40k Necrons FAQ
The latest FAQ comes from Warhammer Community.
Canoptek Court is the most significant change here, as everyone was using Immortals with an Overlord in the unit to get the Devastating Wounds for free every turn. Now, you must pay the 2 CP for it, which can only be used on a few units. This is a giant change for the army, as Immortals can no longer get the Devastating Wounds. We’re not sure if this will be used much at all anymore, as most of the Cryptek or Canoptek units don’t really get enough shots to justify the 2 CP usage. However, it is still not bad with Wraith Whip Coils.
Obeisance Phalanx mainly got a keyword update, so nothing too wild there. The questions just cleared up some issues people were unsure about. It’s also good for the clarification on Cosmic Precision, as some people were questioning if you could actually do it this way or not.
