GW Reveals Old-School Imperial Guard Characters MTO!

MTO featureThis week it’s some old-school Imperial Guard characters hitting MTO including two versions of Commissar Yarrick!

Even though you won’t have special rules for Yarrick, it’s still fun to use the model as a Commissar for your army! They are also releasing a ton of other Commissars, Lord Castellan Creed, Severina Raine, and even some older Inquisitors.

GW Reveals Old-School Imperial Guard Characters MTO!

According to Warhammer Community this MTO will take up to 180 days to get the models, but if you pre-order one, you’ll at least be guaranteed to get yours. One last thing to note, they haven’t given an exact pre-order date yet, but we expect to see them soon.

Commissar Yarrick

Old-School Imperial Guard Characters

The hero of Hades Hive, the Old Man, Old Bale Eye, or (to his mum) just plain Sebastian – Commissar Yarrick is one of the most storied warriors in the entire Astra Militarum. Now, the legend returns with this classic resin model– Ghazghkull will be happy. You can also get the original Yarrick miniature from the 1990s, in metal, from the days when he was hanging around with Duinclaw too much – snip, snip!

It does stink he isn’t in the codex, but both the models are really cool, and being able to get the original one is a fun opportunity!

Lord Castellan Creed

Think you recognise that coat? That’s because it ended up on his daughter! Now daddy Creed is back in resin, aiming to prove that looking cool with two pistols isn’t just for Fallen Dark Angels.

It would be fun to field father and daughter on the same list! Again, he doesn’t have rules, but he is an iconic mini, so he could make for a good commander of some kind.

Severina Raine

Old-School Imperial Guard Characters 3

Star of Honourbound, Trials, and The Darkling Hours, Severina Raine quickly became a fan favourite. Be careful, though – she’ll just as happily execute you as look at you. She’s cast in resin.

This went for a decent amount over retail on eBay and Amazon, so it’s nice to just order one if you want it!

Along with Yarrick and Raine, you’ll also be able to pick up these five classic Commissar miniatures. Whatever combination of sword, pistol, fist, and book you’re after, they’ve got you covered. Thanks to the classic peaked cap and long coat combo, they’ll still look great alongside your newer Commissars. Four of these are cast in metal, with the fifth wielding a sword and bolt pistol in resin.

If you’ve been playing Guard for a while, you probably have a lot of Commissars (as they were basically in every box set), but for newer players, it’s really fun to be able to grab the older versions.

Classic Inquisitors

Classic Inquisitors

Finally, you can show that innocence proves nothing with a pair of classic Inquisitors. Want to track down witches, xenos, and daemons and look fabulous doing it? These miniatures are for you! Now, you just need to decide if you’re going to be radical or puritan. The masked man is cast in resin, and his colleague with the combi-melta is metal.

These old Inquisitors are super iconic and could be a good pickup to add to your collection!

Will you be picking up any of these old-school characters?
