GW Should Really Do The Right Thing Here…

made to order orks custodes battleforcesGames Workshop pulled a fast one with low numbers of these battleforces, but we have a fix that would make GW look like the hero now.

Look, there aren’t too many times when you can save a lot of cash with Warhammer products, and these Battleforces are really the best way to do it!  Not making hardly any of these gives the feeling that GW doesn’t care about the community, and it’s not great optics.

GW, Made To Order (MTO) These Battleforces!

GW did everyone dirty with the recent Battleforce allocations (not to mention the Nightmare Kill Team box); with only two to three going out per store, almost no one could get them. Plus, they sold out online instantly.

We feel like the Games Workshop needs to do better to show people that they care and value our time rather than drain everyone’s wallets with FOMO. Instead of just letting people build up their armies for cheaper and get the new characters, they instead allocated them to a wild degree.

This doesn’t really even let new hobbyists take advantage of the deal (as they may not even have known to get to the store in time to buy any) and instead incentivizes veteran hobbyists and scalpers to get on early and get everything they can.

Speaking of Scalpers

Anyone who had been in the hobby for more than a few days knew these box sets would be in high demand due to the two new models that are paywalled inside each Battleforce.

The easy way to fix this is to put all the Battleforce boxes on MTO past the initial boxes that sell out. This is a win-win for GW, as they get to sell out quickly of their current stock. Then, if you miss the initial pre-order, you can hop on the MTO right after. While you would have to spend months and months getting it, you would save a bunch of cash and be guaranteed a box instead of fighting with all the other hobbyists for just a few boxes.

We feel like this would allow a lot more hobbyists to get the miniatures at a discount and make GW way more money. On top of generating more revenue (even though they are cheaper than buying individually), it would really help with optics, which GW needs badly right now.

It would show people that Games Workshop cares and make them more money. Plus, they can add the MTO to their 6-month forecasting, so it wouldn’t seem to make fulfillment that much harder.

This is a no-risk, win-win situation, and in our opinion, there is no reason NOT to…
