Land Raider Prometheus

GW has been throwing a lot of shade on Facebook lately, but they are answering a lot of gamer’s questions as well. Checkout their latest replies.

Are you getting tired of the updates and would just like to hear a release date? Well you’re not alone, but put on your sunglasses before you read this one folks, Games Workshop’s viewpoint may shock you.

Release Date Reply

While we’re on the subject of a release date, we’ve been hearing a lot of people say June 17th is the release date thought various rumors and such. No one know’s that for sure, as nothing has ever been said in print that June 17th is the release date.

What we have seen is this though…May White Dwarf June DelayNow keep in mind that the White Dwarf ha always been a hype train for Games Workshop new releases. It’s pretty common that we get a preview in the latest White Dwarf and see the new releases a week to two weeks out in each issue. They pushed the June White Dwarf to June 16th which could mean we may not even see 8th edition until July now, or perhaps that is the week it will release. Consult your Magic 8 ball for more details.

Oh and speaking of adding salt:  Multiple sources have reported that there has been what was described by one as a “mass round of firings” at GW Nottingham recently, which may or may not have to do with internal divisions that were forming over the release of 8th edition.

Alright, now on to the “new” Games Workshop and their replies to readers questions and comments. La Voz De Horus compiled this list and it was then translated with Google, so it may not be translated 100% correctly, but you’ll definitely get the idea.

Q:  We already know that enough firing weapons have improved. Nor will there be love for melee weapons?

A:  We have not shown melee weapons yet, but let’s face it some of them are … well … very good. Just wait and see what the axe of Kharn the Traitor does

Q:  I do not understand big guns well. Are multiple wounds distributed to other miniatures?

A:  No, they do not move to other thumbnails. If the soldier Jenkins gets 6 wounds, he dies horribly. But he does not die so horribly so that 5 comrades die of sympathy …

Q:  Will there be positive modifiers to FP ? For example, what was FP6 will now be FP +1 in Octave?

A:  Not what we’ve seen, no.

8th Edition The Shadow of Chaos

Q:  What is the difference between Fast Fire and Eight-Stroke?

A: Quick Fire allows you to double your shots halfway. Coupling doubles your shots to your full range.

Q:  Can vehicles fire at different units? For example, a Leman Russ firing the battle cannon against a tyrannical monster while firing his Heavy Bólteres at some genestealers.

A: Tanks can split fire between various targets.

Q:  Does the character affect the sergeants?

A:  No, sergeants are part of the unit.

Q:  What about plasma guns ?

A:  They are very, very good … wait and you will see!

So it’s obvious Games Workshop has plans of dragging this out for a bit longer. Aside from being sarcastic in a lot of their answers, and sometimes a little rude for a big company, they’re still taking the time to answer the questions that a lot of you may have.
