GW Goes All Direct & Cuts Out Stores With Holiday Pre-Orders

new-relases-Abhorrant-Ghoul-KingThis week GW appears to have gone all direct order and cut stores out for their releases, including the Abhorrant Ghoul King.

Retailers were not solicited for orders or given pricing on any upcoming releases from Games Workshop that will go up for pre-order on Saturday, December 24th, 2022, around 1 pm EST!

GW Goes All Direct & Cuts Out Stores With Holiday Pre-Orders

While there are not many “new” releases, you can grab this model right before Christmas. However, remember that GW said Warhammer stores will have it for now (which means it could just be GW stores).

Then, it will hit the web on January 7th, and perhaps independent retailers will get it then… There are also new MTO Space Marines hitting pre-order on the 24th of December, but we won’t have pricing for those until they hit GW’s webstore on Saturday.

Holiday Exclusive: Abhorrant Ghoul King with Crown of Delusion $35 (Estimated- Warhammer Stores Only This Week)

Come, dear squires – sit on the King’s knee and tell him what you want for Christmas. If it’s flesh, then good news! This year’s Christmas Commemorative Series miniature is a regal Abhorrant Ghoul King, ready to dole out yuletide cheer to his chivalrous knights.

This awesome miniature will be available to pre-order from the Games Workshop webstore from the 7th of January, but if you pop down to your local Warhammer store you’ll be able to get one on Boxing Day

This new model is sweet! Anyone who plays the faction is sure to be happy with this guy.  If you can’t get him this week, it looks like he will be up for general order on the 7th of January.

We can’t let this year’s celebration of the 35th anniversary of Warhammer 40,000 pass without one last hurrah, and some of the most iconic Angels of Death from yesteryear return on a Made to Order basis between the 25th of December and the 2nd of January.

Made to Order: Space Marine Commander

This versatile plastic Commander comes with a lot of options. Choose between five guns, four melee weapons, and some accessories – then spruce up your other Space Marines with all the bits you’ll have left over.

As a plastic kit, this isn’t really outdated like some of the models from 2005. Still a good pickup for someone looking for some unique models!

Made to Order: Armour Through the Ages

Relive the history of the Adeptus Astartes with this set of five resin Space Marines wearing different marks of power armour, from the legendary Mk I Thunder pattern through to the patchwork Mk V Heresy pattern. These can be used as part of regular Tactical and Veteran squads if you want to strut your retro style in the 41st Millennium.

Celebrate a few different retro armors with this MTO kit!

Made to Order: Space Marine Captain

This classic plastic miniature goes the extra mile with a phenomenal helmet and back banner. He also comes with an alternate unhelmeted head, in case the beautiful transverse plume makes it too hard to look left and right.

Another easy HQ stand-in/counts-as model if you are interested in variety!

Made to Order: Lord Executioner

Need to lop off heads at high speed? The Lord Executioner is a resin Space Marine Captain who burns across the skies with his jump pack and power axe, delivering deadly blows to the enemy before they know what’s hit them.

Easily one of my favorite jump-pack models; this guy looks sick!

Made to Order: Heroes of the Chapter

Return to the dawn of the Dark Imperium with the Heroes of the Chapter. This set of plastic miniatures includes one Primaris Ancient, two Primaris Lieutenants, and five Intercessors, who together form a solid core for an army force.

Another set of recent models is an easy pick-up for anyone interested in more unique models.

Made to Order: Chaplain with Jump Pack

Fiery sermons at one hundred miles per hour? Sign us up. The classic Chaplain with Jump Pack is a great way to get your litanies where you need them.

Made to Order: Librarian in Terminator Armour

Shield your body as well as your mind with a suit of Terminator armour for your Librarian, ensuring your Null Zones and Smites go off without a hitch. This is the first time this plastic miniature has been available on its own for quite some time, so pick one up now before it’s gone!

As a model you can run, this might just help you try out a new HQ option with its appropriate model.

Made to Order: Masters of the Chapter

Add some extra fancy Space Marines to your collection with the Masters of the Chapter – a band of resin characters perfect for representing Captains, Lieutenants, or particularly distinguished veterans.

Made to Order: Techmarine

This chunky lad bulks up with a hulking servo-harness, turning a humble Techmarine into a walking arsenal of arms and armour. An extra flamer, servo-arm, and plasma cutter give him plenty of extra punch in battle – just in case your vehicles are all ship-shape and some heretic heads need knocking together.

Kick it back to the OG with this old-school Techmarine.
