HOT! Ad Mech Themed Blood Angels

Today is the 100th Armies on Parade article post! Hurrrah!

So for this special occasion I’m featuring the current incarnation of my Iron Angels (Iron Hands, Adeptus Mechanicus Themed Blood Angels).

Normally when you click on the Armies on Parade label you’ll be able to scroll through some great looking armies, all at once.
It’s like you were at a major event yourself, all from the comfort of your home or smart phone!
Lately I’ve been talking about adding in Typhoon Speeders for a while, this event was the army’s first major engagement fielding them.

I also have some other new tech in there consisting of a Sternguard squad with 9 melta equivalents for helping to deal with pesky Paladin squads.

On this day I took second overall at a 32 person event, as the army preformed pretty stellar! The meltas definitely helped, as well as the Lord of Death himself, Mephiston.

General Tactics

Basically the major ploy of the army is to get to the center of the board, from which everything should be within striking distance on the next turn.

The Typhoons hang more than 1″ behind the rhinos to get a cover save, and to leave room for the passengers bailing out.

It’s a delicate balance because the jump troops hide behind the Rhino wall as well, so positioning is key.

Using the Rhinos to direct traffic, tank shock, and protect your troops is an essential part of this list.

Sometimes I don’t always hit the center, occasionally if I’m going second I’ll smash a weak flank, and then follow up with engaging the opponent east to west across the middle of the table.

It’s really just all situational, as the best battle plans seem to frequently get abandoned or unravel mid game.
