The new Imperial Guard Cadia Stands army box is here with an early access codex; here is the pricing and value breakdown!
We’ve now seen a few of these Army Box sets for Warhammer 40k. They generally follow the trend where they give you early access to the codex a month or so in advance, which gives the box some intrinsic value.
The release date for all the individual items in this box set is January 28th, 2023, so we know the actual pricing of the individual units inside the Imperial Guard, er Astra Militarum, Cadia Stands army box now. Honestly, they are much lower than our initial estimates, which is good news for hobbyists!
Imperial Guard Cadia Stands Army Box Pricing: $200
Prove that Cadia still stands as you start a new Astra Militarum force with this army set – which contains 28 completely new miniatures. It includes 20 Cadian Shock Troops, a five-man Cadian Command Squad, a Sentinel with Armoured and Scout Sentinel configurations, and two Field Ordnance Teams – the vanguard of a revamped Astra Militarum range.
Just like the previous Black Templars, the Leagues of Votann, and Beast Snagga army box sets, the pricing for the Imperial Guard (or Astra Militarum) Cadia Stands army box is $200.
Here’s the value inside the box:
- 20 Cadian Shock Troops $100 (10 Krieg are $60; however, GW kept the price at $50 for them)
- Cadian Command Squad $45 (Old squad $42)
- Sentinel $45 (much cheaper than we originally thought)
- Two Field Ordnance Teams $55 (Firestrike turrets on 80mm bases are $35 each, so, not a bad price at all!)
- Codex $55
- Cards $29
Army Box Retail Price: $200 Total MSRP: $329
Savings Versus Box Price: $129
Imperial Guard Cadia Stands Army Box: What’s the Value?
Well, now that we have the actual prices from GW, this doesn’t have as much value as we originally thought (but it’s better in the long run to have cheaper prices). For reference, the Votann box had about $135 in value, and this is just $6 behind that, so pretty standard.
As we said, this is much less now that we’ve seen the prices, and lower prices are better overall!
So if you want to start an army or just buff up your forces, you’ll be hard-pressed to find more value than this box. Plus, you’ll get the codex early as well!
