More Sisters of Battle Bits Previewed: Armor Plates & More

Even more bits have been spotted for our anticipated new Sisters of Battle models. Check out some of the armor bits that the ladies will be clad in!

Warhammer Community added a nice chunk of bits to their Battle Sisters Bulletin. With GW’s transparency and responsiveness to the community, Sisters fans should be pleased with what’s been previewed so far. Speaking of earlier previews, let’s check out some of the highlights.

Sisters of Battle Previews We’ve Seen

Jumping right in, we’ve had preview after preview of Sororitas bits and models dating as far back as 2018 from Warhammer Community:

We know many of you have been waiting patiently (and impatiently…) for a long time for the Adepta Sororitas, and that for many of you this is more than ‘just’ a new army. So, we’re going to do something we’ve never done before – right up until the release, we’ll be bringing you updates on the Sisters of Battle, sharing images and snippets of info and a whole ton of behind the scenes goodness.

Emperor willing, the Battle Sisters of the Adepta Sororitas will be ready to take the fight to the renegade, the heretic and the unbeliever in 2019.

  • GW is going to make a BIG show of the design, background, and development of this line perhaps in a similar fashion to how they did all the art reveals for Necromunda.
  • We’ve got a hunch that we’ll be seeing even more Sisters of Battle soon. We can only see more from here, right? We do have Adepticon to look forward to. Who knows, a full Sisters preview could go down at the event which would kick off their official faction re-release on the table.

People initially thought this Sisters model was going to be a part of a special release (like Boxing Day, for example). However, we are well into 2019 and have yet to see her hit the shelves. We know that she was sculpted after some Sororitas art, but if she will be a special character or just an exclusive mini, nobody knows.

Even More Sororitas Bits

Our designers have been pushing the design of the Sisters of Battle further than ever before – while you’ll recognise their classic armour and weapons, look closer and you’ll pick up a wealth of detail we could previously only explore in art, like the reverential engravings on each shell of this heavy bolter:

And, of course, you’ll be getting flamers – lots and lots of flamers. It is, after all, the ideal heretic-purging weapon. Based again on the iconic Sisters of Battle flamer, these have been upgraded with a more ornate muzzle:

Of course, with Sisters of Battle being a part of the Imperium, they are going to have generally the same weapons as their Space Marine counterparts. The bits we’ve seen that are coming exclusively to the faction all have their Sororitas insignia, Inquisitorial markings, and Fleur-de-lis.  There was also a nifty Crossbow that looks a lot like Inquisitor Greyfax’s that was spotted!

Looking at this Sisters model that was previewed at the 2019 LVO, it looks like she may be some kind of special character holding up a banner equivalent. Keep in mind, we have no idea what her points/rules will be…

Really, we don’t know anything past the cosmetics of the model. But keep your eyes peeled because more support is definitely coming.

Battle Sisters Armor Bits Previewed

battle sisters bulletin

Games Workshop announced that they’ll be posting everything to do with Sisters of Battle in a section of their website called the “Battle Sister Bulletin”. This will be your one-stop-shop place to find all the latest details on the faction as Games Workshop works to bring us a codex. Looking at their latest announcement on the bulletin, we’ve got more armor bits to break down! These aren’t just any bits either. There are some strong undertones that these will be going to some character models…

Most Sisters of Battle characters will build upon core details and imagery you’re already familiar with. This power pack, for example, features more ornate detail than the standard Battle Sisters, as well as a leather-bound chainsword (you never know when you might need one).

This cuirass feels more ceremonial than those worn by standard Adepta Sororitas and is replete with engravings and other fine details to make the Character stand out.

Every character needs something to put their foot on, right? Nothing says “Sororitas character” like a broken Sisters pillar on the battlefield for them to pose on.

Maybe a dove with a banner is the equivalent to the Astartes servo skulls?

It’s no doubt that GW is focusing a lot of time into the Sisters faction. One thing is for sure. We are ready to see some completed models and some new rules! What do you think these bits will go to? Did they preview bits for multiple characters? What kind of new HQ would you like to see? Let us know in the comments of our Facebook Hobby Group.
