New 40k Lead Writer & Loremaster Inbound for GW

Warhammer-40k-new-writerWarhammer 40k is getting a new Lead Writer/Loremaster, which could impact the game’s background moving forward.

This isn’t talked about too much, but the lore and the impact it could have on any game is actually giant!

While podcasts and shows are great, having someone like Wade heading up the writing role is really cool for the studio. As we said, this could have a far bigger impact on the game than most changes we see; however, with that in mind, it could be a year or two before we see any impact.

As things are written, they go into a very long production cycle (around 18 months or so, as far as we can tell). People have been complaining about the narrative as of late, and with his deep knowledge and true love of the lore, this could really start bringing about some changes people have been wanting to see.

This also comes at an interesting time as he loves Khorne, so maybe he got to work on the World Eaters book (but might have already been written before he got the gig)?

World Eaters 2Two other big things to note, it looks like Robin Cruddace is still in charge of the rules, so there are no changes there. Then for AoS, Phil Kelly still looks to be the main lore person, so this will really only change the narrative and lore of 40k.

This is good news, as Wade has a very deep knowledge of the game, and as the lead writer for the studio, his impact could be felt all through new books and games. He was recently part of the Warhammer TW crew, but this seems better for the game in many ways.

Are you excited about the change?
