New Dark Angels Rules & Sept White Dwarf Previews

September’s White Dwarf is on the way and we’re getting an official look inside of the issue! Take a look at what Dark Angels, BSF and more will be getting.

Warhammer Community previewed some of the support and content we’ll be seeing inside of September’s White Dwarf. And while Dark Angels are getting a little bit of attention, it’s not quite what we expected.

Dark Angel Support in White Dwarf

We first were hearing rumors about a possible Box Set pitting Dark Angels against a once-loyal Space Marine Chapter. However, it turned out to be a narrative mission page of Dark Angels hunting down the Fallen.

While the following pics weren’t from the official Warhammer Community preview, this is a deeper look inside of what’s coming in this month’s issue.

White Dwarf Dark Angels Stratagems

Showing a page of Dark Angels and Fallen Agent Stratagems, it’s not exactly what some hobbyists may have had in mind for Dark Angels support, but the missions look pretty cool.

With Stratagems like Slip Away in the game, they’re designed for fluffy matches and have other stratagems geared around the same power level.  Looking at some of their tricks, it almost makes you wish a few of these could be in Matched Play.

White Dwarf Dark Angel Deployment

Looking at the actual mission, it’s a manhunt for the Fallen Agent (AKA Hunt the Fallen). If you bring Cypher along and choose him as the Fallen Agent, he can be a real Headache. Beyond that, the attacker (Fallen player) for the mission always chooses who has the first turn.

As per usual, White Dwarf is also coming with a painted figure showcase of some Dark Angels units and details on painting.

Ogryn Brothers Come to Blackstone Fortress

In the preview, all we know is that a pair of Ogryn brothers are joining the forces of the adventurers, getting their own rules. As far as the image goes, it looks like one is actually a Bullgryn and the other is the standard shooty Ogryn.

Gotrek & Felix Come to Total War: Warhammer II

Among other short stories, battle reports, and the like, White Dwarf is also coming with a free code to add Gotrek and Felix into Total War: Warhammer II.

While under your control, they’ll serve as powerful allies and can even be reinforced with your faction’s units as normal. However, Gotrek’s doom waits for no man – or dwarf, for that matter – so don’t expect him to be around forever. Though he may occasionally leave your service to seek his death, he’s famously incapable of achieving it.

All in all, there’s definitely some exciting content on the way for this month’s White Dwarf. With that said, although the Dark Angel support wasn’t exactly what the community was expecting, it’s better than nothing! What do you think about the narrative Dark Angels mission?
