New Tyranids Combat Patrol Box: Pricing & Breakdown

Is-this-Worth-It-tyranids-combat-patrol-value-worthThe new 40k Tyranids Combat Patrol box has been released, and here is the contents and value breakdown for Warhammer 40k!

Remember, these are mostly designed for new players to the factions, just like the current Start Collecting Sets that GW introduced back in 2016. They are being marketed as a quick way to get a small force on the table and play some small games immediately. Just to note, the price of these boxes is now $150, so we’ll be using that as the price point, along with the other increased prices from GW.

Usually, the starter-style kits are a pretty good value, so even if you already have some Tyranids, this could be a decent value. GW said it will be on the way soon, but we still have to wait for the previous two before this hits shelves. Let’s check out the value.

Tyranids Combat Patrol

Fortunately, the Norn-Queens have been hard at work splicing together a new Combat Patrol box, which is ideal whether you’re brand new to the Tyranids or have been on board since Hive Fleet Behemoth was first sighted.

The box actually has some useful units and minis inside, so this could be a good starting point for players. Let’s see what type of cash it will save you, though.

  • Hive Tyrant $60
  • Tyranid Warriors $60
  • 36 Termagants $105 (includes the Ripper Swarms)

 Total MSRP: $225

Savings Versus Box Price: $75

Is the Tyranids Combat Patrol Worth It?

Tyranids codexThis actually has pretty decent value inside, especially when compared with the recent Grey Knights box that only had $44 worth of value inside. So, if you want the Termagants to bolster up your forces, then this is really a good buy.

However, it’s not as worthwhile if you have plenty of those little guys hanging around. As we said, this is designed for new players, and it gets them a ton of minis for not too much money.

Either way, exciting times are on the way for Tyranids, along with rules and models via all the latest rumors and reveals.  Here’s all the latest on the upcoming rules updates and points changes for Warhammer 40k.
