Is it Worth It?
This one has such a small value that we can’t really give it a pass. Basically, all it gets you is the Librarian for free, and that’s about it… So, if you need every model inside, it’s worth it, but we generally expect better from GW when it comes to these boxes.
How Many Points is it?
So, you’re wondering how many points the Grey Knights Combat Patrol box racks up, eh? Well, in Warhammer 40k 10th edition, this box hits with about 650 points. But, as you know, the tides of the Grimdark universe are ever-shifting, and with the latest points updates, that number could quickly fluctuate.
One minute, you’re ready to purge Daemons, and the next, you’re recalculating your list because the points gods have decided to have some fun.

Strike Squad
Strike Squads are usually the front runners of a Grey Knights strike force. Wearing lighter armor than the main Terminator Squads, these seasoned fighters move fast and stealthily, slipping through enemy lines with ease. When battle kicks off, a Grey Knights commander will often send Strike Squads to grab crucial spots and key objectives, using teleporters for quick access to isolated or hard-to-reach locations. These squads are critical – without their recon and groundwork, the Terminator Squads would be swinging in the dark.
Terminator Squad
Loaded with an arsenal of close combat and ranged weapons, Grey Knight Terminators teleport right into the heart of the action, wiping out enemies swiftly and efficiently.
Dreadknight
Bigger, tougher, and more heavily armored than the rest, the Nemesis Dreadknight was built to take on Greater Daemons and Daemon Princes, utterly annihilating them.
Grey Knights Librarian
With eyes blazing and fists crackling with raw energy, Grey Knights Librarians charge into battle, ready to annihilate their enemies. Some unleash blasts of warp-force that obliterate their foes, while others bend time or reinvigorate their comrades with astonishing power. No matter their approach, all Librarians are formidable psykers, wielding their unique mutations to defend Humanity with unmatched force.
New Grey Knights Combat Patrol Rules
As you’d expect from a Combat Patrol built for close combat mayhem, the Aurellios’ Banishers comes loaded with rules to help you teleport across the battlefield. They may be all about close quarters, but they’re still Grey Knights at heart, rocking the same Teleport Assault army rule as before. What sets them apart this time are new Enhancements, secondary objectives, and Stratagems that sharpen their melee game even more. You can get all the new Grey Knights Combat Patrol rules right here.
Banishment Stone Rule
This rare psychoreactive crystal, embedded in a theldrite casing at the base of the bearer’s skull, works its eerie magic when the bearer slays an enemy war leader. At the moment of death, the enemy’s despair is amplified into a psychic shockwave that stuns and demoralizes their followers, creating the perfect opening for the Grey Knights to strike.
Effect? Each time the bearer takes down an enemy Character, roll a D6. On a 2+, you gain 1 CP. There is nothing like turning a leader’s downfall into a tactical advantage!
Stratagem
The ancient warding sigils etched into the masterwork armor of the Grey Knights make them insanely tough to crack. Until the end of the phase, if an attack’s Strength is higher than your unit’s Toughness, the enemy has to subtract one from their Wound rolls. Makes those hits just a bit less painful!
What to Buy Next?
Well… it has so few units inside (and even half a strike Squad) that you still need a lot from this. So, you need more Stike Squads, some more dreads, tanks, and characters. Basically, this box gets you a few starting units to build up and paint, but to continue your collection, you will need a lot more of everything in the box.
There is also something to be said about just buying the minis you think are cool and building an army around them! Don’t forget to grab the new rules for this faction and brush up on how to play them. We’ve got you covered in this article!
While it may not have the highest value, The Grey Knights Combat Patrol still offers a great way for new players to start building their armies and explore the faction.
