Invictor Warsuit Lore is all about boosting the power of the most independent-minded Primaris Marines in the Galaxy!
The Primaris just can’t let some good things stay the way they are! Nearly dead Marines only have so many employment opportunities, and Primaris are cutting into them big time with these suits! While they still field Dreads, they are actually putting live pilots into the Invictors! The Nearly Dead Marine Union is trying to fight the new suits, but they may have already caught on too much to stop them now! Let’s get out our best Exoskeletons and learn about them!
Invictor Warsuit Build
The Warsuit is a lightly armored combat walker (is anything lightly armored in a Space Marine army?) that provides fire support for its fellow battle-brothers. The suit itself is kind of like an extension of the pilot himself. The suit’s Machine Spirit combines with the auto-senses of the helmet and plugs into his Mark X Power armor to give the pilot full control. The suit acts on the pilot’s every movement and whim, they eventually become almost a single entity.
The suit design is taken from the Redemptor Dreadnought frame but is far stripped down. Of course, the biggest difference is that there is a live, undamaged Primaris piloting it. Again, why take away the glory from a hard-earned Marine? Just to give it to a pup of a Primaris, oh well, what Girlyman wants, Girlyman gets! Either way, the Imperium has adopted these machines quickly and is fielding them all over the place!
Further, the suit has been designed with sound dampening materials which let the pilot cover great distances with little sound. This lets them advance above the main Marine force to scout out positions and cause havoc before the battle starts. What’s scarier than a Marine sneaking up on you? An Invictor Warsuit sneak up on you obviously!
Independent Pilots
Because of the need for immediate action so far ahead of the lines, they only pick the pilots who actually have swift independent thought. Hard to imagine a bunch of vat-grown warriors with the skills, but some do have the intuition!
Not only do they have to be able to make swift decisions, but they also look for the Marines most willing to sacrifice themselves. If they have to make a last stand to stop a forward assault, they will without thought. Basically, they are the Mavericks of the force with a license to do whatever they think is necessary.
Wearing a Giant Suit Makes you Stronger…
While this is a crazy concept, it’s true, wearing a giant exoskeleton will in fact even make an Adeptus Astartes‘ warrior even stronger! They also get access to a much larger array of firepower and use it to blast those poor Xenos or Chaos into dust.
They generally focus on the biggest and baddest units in the enemy army. They are the stopgap that keeps the enemy from busting through the lines!
