Warhammer TV is Broken & GW is Not Fixing It

Warhammer TV Plus Hor Wal Title 1200While it’s been a couple of years since Warhammer TV launched, these reviews show it’s broken, and GW doesn’t seem to be fixing it.

Games Workshop has entered the digital age with its Warhammer Plus service, a subscription-based platform offering exclusive content for diehard Warhammer fans. But this service seems to have some serious issues when you start looking at the reviews, especially when you want to cast it. Watching on your phone doesn’t seem as bad, but who wants to watch superhumans and wild xenos fight each other on the small screen?

According to Google Play, the app was updated on January 24th, 2024. However, plenty of reviews indicate that functionality issues are still plaguing the app after that update and stretch back as far as 2021.

Looking at those reviews, they are sitting with a majority of 1 star when it comes to the TV version of the app. Even though the phone and tablet reviews are a little better, they only sit at 3.2 and 3.1 (out of 5). It’s also worth noting that almost none of the reviews really deal with content; the majority are all about functionality. We talked extensively about the issues when the app launched, but it really doesn’t look like things have improved over the past couple of years.

If you look at the TV reviews, all of the top reviews are 1 star. It seems like you have to log in every single time you use it, and multiple people say it’s totally unusable on Android… and it’s happening all over region-wise.  Regardless, if you have an Android device and want to watch on your TV, it will be hard.

The tablet version does have better reviews, but even the 2-star review says they only did it because Warhammer is “pretty great.” Again, the reviews like the content, but the issues seem device-wide.

The most helpful reviews for using it on your phone all sit firmly at two stars, again with all the similar issues and the fact that it still almost feels like a beta app.Warhammer TV reviews 5

Lastly, it’s just a little funny they still have Louise featured on the page for the app, as she hasn’t been there since early 2023. Either way, this isn’t a good look for Warhammer TV, and they need to make some drastic changes to turn things around and get more people watching how they want without so much effort!

What are your thoughts on the app? Have you tried using it on other devices?
