Will the Eldar continue to rise to the top? More Ynnari codex rules update rumors are here for Warhammer 40k. Don’t miss the latest.
Looking at the meta of 8th edition, most competitive lists sprinkle in three Eldar factions. It’s usually some Craftworlds, Drukhari, and Ynnari. (And when we say Ynnari, we really mean Yvraine).
Really, the Soulburst rule that comes from Battleforged Ynnari is one of the most broken rules in 40k and they are a faction that’s still in their index. So what could GW possibly do to give them fair support?
Initial Ynnari Rumors
Looking at some of the Ynnari Codex rumors earlier from the previous year:
- The Ynnari were supposed to get their Codex after all the other factions in 40k got theirs. (GSC are the latest faction to get theirs).
- New models could be in store as they really need more meat to the army. They have really good characters and that’s really it.
Two of the Latest Ynnari Rumors Spotted
Keep in mind: These are just rumors and are actually conflicting with each other on some details.
Latest from key Industry Insiders:
- Because the faction is small and there’s no word on new models for sure yet, the faction may get their update in an issue of White Dwarf or downloadable PDF.
- We could see the Ynnari get a rules makeover between Spring and late Summer.
Like we said before, the Ynnari may be a small faction, but they certainly are powerful. Most people in the competitive scene are running Yvraine just for her psychic support. The Yncarne is another great option we’ve been seeing in a few lists. However, what the faction really lacks is some meat.
We mean unique Troops, Transports, Elites, etc. that really set them apart from the other Aeldari factions. We know GW has not stopped producing new models at all this year so it’s definitely not outside the realm of possibility for them to pump a whole slew of new units out. (We saw multiple kits for Orks and GSC when their Codex dropped after all).
What do you think about the Ynnari getting a Codex? Does Soulburst need to be reworked? Should they get a Codex or a simple rules update PDF? Let us know in the comments of our Facebook Hobby Group.
