RUMORS: Adeptus Arbites Set To Get New Models & Rules?

The Adeptus Arbites are certainly not a new faction. They’ve had some models in the past, but never in plastic. Plus, they’re in need of some rules…
Looking at the Arbites, they are essentially the Police and law enforcers of the Emperor’s will. They keep the Citizens/gangs/cult uprisings in check. While they may not be “a frontline fighting force” we think they definitely have a place on the table.

Hot on the heels of new rules in the White Dwarf for Marines and Assasins we’re starting to see rumors for Arbites as well. Check out the rumors we’re starting to see pop up.

Old Rumors & a False Alarm

This rumor was spotted on The Bolter & Chainsword. It shows a very interesting line talking about Adeptus Arbites that were coming in a White Dwarf issue.

Salt

Cyrox on The Bolter & Chainsword had this to say:

In this month’s White Dwarf, in the Temporal Distort feature on page 132, there is a paragraph that caught my eye:

“.. the Adeptus Arbites haven’t been seen around much lately, but with the likes of Genestealer Cults on the rise again, who knows when they might be back?”

Now, you could say that it’s not much of rumor, but when you combine it with the rumor engine clue from the 26th September, the Eagle head, then it becomes a little more credible.

The Rumor Engine he was talking about was the eagle that turned out to be the Custodes Dawneagle Jetbike.

Although this rumor engine wasn’t for the Adeptus Arbites at all, the faction still has a little support.

The last time we saw any minis for the Adeptus Arbites was in the early 2000s as they were a field-able skirmish force for Necromunda.

New Rumors of Arbites in a Codex

Through different sources on the internet, there’s a little bit of rumor chatter with the Adeptus Arbite’s name being dropped. These are what people are saying:

Keep in mind these are just RUMORS. The last time these guys were brought up in a discussion, everything turned out to be false.

  • Arbites are getting new minis
  • They should get rules for multiple games (i.e 40k, Kill Team, Necromunda, etc.)
  • They’ll get a 40k codex (probably in a White Dwarf issue in all honesty).

Looking at the Arbites as a whole in the timeline where GW stands with their games, it’s a perfect opportunity to have them reappear in a new way. With Kill Team and Necromunda bigger than ever before, who says an elite SWAT team of Arbites wouldn’t fit in?

Editor’s Note: it may be doubtful that Arbites get any sort of attention at all, as they are usually tasked with maintaining order on a large hive/planetary scale. However, ENFORCERS are more localized and could certainly see rules and or new minis.

So there may be some speculative confusion here – add extra salt!

Do you think the Arbites will get their codex in a White Dwarf issue if the rumors are true? Will they get an HQ option and some troops for a cheap Battalion detachment? What kind of stratagems do you think they’d get? Let us know in the comments of our Facebook Hobby Group.
