From the looks of it, the new Orks are going to be push-fit (or ETB- Easy To Build) for the upcoming 40k release!
Sure some people dislike push-fit, but when you have to build units of 30 Ork Boyz, to us, it seems like it may not be such a bad idea. While having smaller units or characters as multipart kits is nice, when you have to build so many minis, sometimes push-fit is just better. This isn’t really a debate on push-fit though, whether you like it or not, it looks like all the new greenskin style Orks may follow that format.
Beast Snagga Army Box Still Available here.
Why? Well, we dug into some pictures in the codex and when you look at the units in big quantities, there are striking similarities and basically, as everything is in pairs. We’re looking at a high-res image of the rumored combat patrol box from the Orks codex, so check that out to see if you can’t find more Orky Waldos for yourself other than just the examples we use below.
New Orks Going to be Push-fit for Non-Beastsnaggas
These pics come from the Combat Patrol page and this honestly looks like it could really be the actual box. Rumor also has it that this will be a “paywall” release of the new greenskin style Orks models and this box will be the only way to get them at least at first.
So, to the evidence. First, look at the heavy weapon models, they are the same bodies and heads (just painted differently) where the only things that are different are the arms and weapons. Even those are extremely similar.
Then, when you look at the Nobs, the same thing. Bodies and legs are the same with different arms and heads. This leads us to believe these will be push-fit. With the majority of the pieces the same and just a little flare.
There’s more evidence though…
Now, when you look at all the Boyz themselves, they are set up in pairs. With them being the exact same minis, no differences at all. This could be them just using the same minis for the picture (aka photoshop), but we doubt it.
Curious Assembly Guide
There is also this curious assembly guide on the bottom of the newly redesigned Ork Boys box art, that shows what looks to be the new ETB boyz, however, this box is the old Multipart boyz from the early 2000s as we reported on Friday.

This guide seems to show one of the models pictured above as coming in the Orks combat patrol in a push-fit format, as well as the overall image of the new Ork boyz squad, and not the actual (old Multipart boyz) contents of the box.
Perhaps the new box art is prepped for a separate release down the road, but for now, it looks like the Multi-part boyz will be all that is available separately for the near future.
While we have no proof that the new Warboss or Deff Koptas will be ETB, it seems probable given that the last time GW offered new models for a faction that has had the same look for years, Slaves to Darkness, the whole box including the new big boss style model were all push-fit, including the cavalry.
Do you think these will be push-fit? Which do you prefer for Orks- push-fit or multi-part?
