Ork rumors are flowing once again. Take a look at the latest batch of possibilities for the faction reaching toward and beyond Psychic Awakening.
Coming from BoLS who says their source is from “Industry Rumormongers”, there is a fresh batch of rumors swirling solely around Orks. While we go into all of this, make sure you take this with a pinch of salt as the source isn’t yet confirmed.
Ork Rumors Emerge: Set Beyond Psychic Awakening
Ork players have had it rough in 8th edition. While they’ve consistently hovered around the top in multiple tournaments since their codex dropped, they hardly have any new models. The appeal to start the faction or branch out from the competitive Ork units just isn’t there.
However, there are rumors that are beginning to swirl that might put a smile on some Ork’s faces.
Rumors of new Ork Content:
We know Saga of the Beast is one of the expansions in the Psychic Awakening lineup set for March 2020. And right away, it sounds like Orks (The Beast) and Space Wolves (Sagas) are going to be involved. While the usual support wave is a book that lumps the factions involved and a new model, since there are Space Wolves involved, the new model is probably going to go to them.
But that doesn’t mean Orks won’t get another support wave. The new rumors seem to suggest that Orks will get their time in the spotlight after Psychic Awakening. Meaning, they will probably get a little helping hand if they do appear in Saga of the Beast. However, their real power support will come later down the line. Here’s what we could be seeing according to the rumors:
- New Ork Codex
- Possibility for new plastic Ghazghkull
- Plastic Tank Busters
- A couple of other plastic Ork kits
- This should all be taking place past Psychic Awakening around Q2 or Q3 of 2020.
In the realm of plastic kits, there have been certain rumor engines that make us think something Orky is on the way.
Dangers of Being a Late Codex
While the mention of a new Codex is dope, there might be some bad news for any factions mentioned to be getting a book in the latter parts of 2020. We’ve also been hearing rumors of a new 9th edition that’ll eventually kick all the 8th edition books to the curb so GW can start the cycle once again.
New content for your faction might put a smile on your face…however, there looks to be a real danger on the timeline from when it releases to when 9th edition drops. (If there really is a 9th edition).
What are your thoughts on these Ork rumors? Would you like to see the Ork codex be the first book of 9th edition if the rumors are all true?
