Shadowspear Chaos Space Marine Datasheet Rules SPOTTED!

eternal crusade abaddon

Don’t miss the new Chaos Space Marine Warhammer 40k rules and the miniature lineup for the Shadowspear box that were just spotted!

Warhammer Community tells us that Haarken, Abaddon, and everything from the Shadowspear box is revolving around Vigilus. When Haarken, the Lord of Raptors was introduced, an eighty-day countdown clock began. Haarken told Abaddon that would be all the time he needed to claim Vigilus under Chaos (which started on December 16th).

We Have Returned!

The clock that began to countdown in the video

From the timing above it appears the video indicates March 5th, 2019, (which is as of this writing 3 days away) but what exactly may happen that day is still a bit of a mystery.

With all of the previews that have been popping up, we are beginning to think that it’s all way too much to release at once. We may see three or more waves of Chaos goodies released over time after March 5th.

First Wave: Shadowspear?

Why are we calling Shadowspear the first wave? Well, that’s because it was the first previewed Box Set back from LVO showcasing four new things for Chaos. We think a Box Set will hit the shelves and then other Chaos units will trickle down the pipe as time goes on.

Now with the rumored contents of the box out, that looks to be the case entirely!

Shadowspear was among the first previews containing forces of Chaos & Space Marines. The Box will contain all new miniaturesTake a look at what was previewed at the front of the line.

Rumored New Chaos Rules from Shadowspear

Spotted in a write-up on Reddit, these rumored rules are making the rounds this weekend!

Hey there everybody! So I got to look at the rules for Shadowspear early. I don’t want to post the actual pictures of the rules, as to not trace them back to my source that sent them to me, but I do have some info.

Venomcrawler

Arachnid Daemon Engine Venomcrawler

1 Venomcrawler (Heavy Support): 10 wounds, S6 (goes down to 5 and 4 per bracket). Armed with Excruciator Cannon (Assault D3, S+2, AP-2, D3 damage) and Eviscerating Claws (S+2, AP-3, and 3 damage), as well as Soulflayer Tendrils (S user, AP-2, 2 damage, does 2 additional attacks with this weapon). Blows up on a 5 and adds 1 to daemonic summoning rolls for Master of Possession within 6″.

New Obliterator Models

obliterator new 1
New Obliterator models are coming inside the box that look to be festering with Chaos warp taint. These brutes are fantastic on the table and become even scarier with the Mark of Slaanesh.

obliterator new 2

Obliterators (Heavy Support): T5 now with 4 wounds. Fleshmetal guns are the same stats, but now have 6 Assault shots instead of 4. They also now have Crushing Fists. S+1, AP-1, D3 damage. I assume there will be 3, since squad size is still 3.

Master of Possessions

chaos sorcerer

The New Sorcerer that was previewed earlier is actually some kind of named character that specializes in possessions. He’ll be armed with spells that are specifically designed to help out Daemon allies and corrupt the enemies around him.

1 Master of possession (HQ): Basically just a sorcerer that knows 2 powers. Has 5++ save for being daemonkin

New Chaos Marine Models

While the Chaos Marine unit itself is nothing new, the black Legion are getting completely new sculpts! It’s been a long time coming for Chaos support and we’re finally getting it!

1 Squad of Chaos Space Marines (Troops): 1 champion with axe, 4 with bolters, 3 with chainsword and bolt pistols, 1 with plasma gun, 1 with autocannon. No ability to switch out what’s in there, so I assume they’re monopose. The heavy bolter rumor picture might actually be for havocs? Not sure.

Greater Possessed

greater possessed

2 Greater possessed (Elite): squads of 1-2, can separate after deploying together. S5, T5, W5, A5, give +1S to all friendly <Mark of Chaos> <Legion> Daemon units within 6″.

To show the authenticity of these rumors, the OP also included the Datasheet for the Chaos Space Marines as well:

The models pictured above seem to be in the footer of the datasheet, along with what appears to be an autocannon, (or possibly a lascannon), and bolter marine. So we can tell there are 5 unique Chaos models in this box so far via the images above and on this datasheet.

Fake or not all the information presented seems pretty compelling…

Regardless of however Games Workshop decides to dish out the Chaos support in the coming weeks, we know we have loads in store for us still!

And don’t forget there are new Loyalist models on the way too, that may get a ton of new models as well…
