Sorry Orks Players, Beast Snagga Army Box Allocated by GW

By Rob Baer | July 12th, 2021 | Categories: Orks, Warhammer 40k, Warhammer 40k Rumors

Despite the sea of Dominion boxes still available to stores, that will not be the case for the new Beast Snagga Army box as GW just allocated it.

Looks like allocations are back for this week’s Beast Snagga Army Box, and unfortunately, hobbyists out there will be scrambling for this early access look at all the new 40k Orks rules.

And not to shame content creators that get this box provided to them by GW, but when so many are given across the globe, and so little marked to stores, that it really makes it tough to put a positive spin on what looks to be scummy Fear of Missing Out, perceived scarcity sales tactics.

Content creators are becoming part of the problem too, (including Spikey Bits) whether we purchase the items from retailers, or if they are provided for us.

For now, though, let’s check out what goes on pre-order this week, and then take a look at how many of each will be available, and round it up with our thoughts on the matter.

Beast Snagga Orks Army Box Set

beast snagga boxThe box is absolutely stuffed with Orks and ravenous squigs – not only do you get 26 new Ork miniatures, the set comes with an exclusive version of the new Ork codex with bespoke Beast Snagga artwork, a set of Ork datacards, and a transfer sheet.

The army includes:

  • Zodgrodd Wartsnagga – the legendary Runtherder
  • Nob on Smasha Squig – the epitome of the Beast Snaggas
  • Squighog Boyz – hard-hitting cavalry
  • Bomb Squig – the undisputed star of the box
  • 20 Beast Snagga Boyz – the core of your new Ork army

The codex has enough options for you to run a pure Beast Snagga Boyz army, or mix and match with your existing Orks to create the Waaagh! of your dreams. This will be the first place for you to get the new Ork codex but don’t worry, it will be available separately soon.

We originally saw these bad boys back during Warhammer Fest 2021, but we’ve got even more coming from recent previews you can check here! This is sure to be a hit as it’s currently the only way for work players to get their new 9th edition codex!

Good News From GW on 40k Allocations (AoS not so much)

Here are the allocation numbers (called “caps” now from GW) to stores from Games Workshop North America for the new Beast Snagga Army Box.

Hopefully, with these reduced numbers, GW brings back their website queue so secondary market scalpers leave enough for customers that actually want to play Orks.

The Beast Snagga Army box is capped at 4 per store.

sisters of battle army boxNow to be fair to GW there were limits of 8 per store for the Black Friday release of the Sisters of Battle Army Box way back in 2019 (before lockdown). So when you put it into a 2021 world frame of mind a limit of 4 may not seem that bad.

But it is still a bad look from store owners and hobbyists alike that were just bombarded with pre-order coverage for Dominion (that is still available to order as of this writing).

We can also confirm the cost of the new Beast Snagga Army box set will be $199, which tends to lead to a $50-60 valuation on a kit of 10 Beast Snagga Boyz.

Don’t forget to vote with your hobby dollars for this release, to hopefully keep things like this from continuing to happen to games stores and excited hobbyists alike!

What do you think of the latest round of allocations from GW for the Beast Snagga Army box? Good, bad, or more of the same?
