Tau secured a first-place finish at the Scorched Earth Open over the weekend, as these Warhammer 40k army lists took the top three spots!
The tournament is over, and now we can look at which lists managed to secure a place at the top! Check out what these winners brought into their armies.
Tau Blast Through The Scorched Earth Open: 40k Army Lists
Thanks to Best Coast Pairings, we can look back at the event as if we were all there ourselves.
3rd Place: Chase Chappell – Eldar
2nd Place: Terek Haehi – World Eaters
1st Place: Jason McKenzie – Tau
Jason’s winning tau list was led by an Ethereal for support and a Coldstar Commander for a mobile and potent ranged threat. Troops bring in 9 Breachers and 20 Kroot for some decent close-range bodies that aren’t too expensive.
Elites start off with some firepower bringing in five Battlesuits and ten drones to be versatile threats that are decently durable to boot! The other elite is a Firesight Marksman for firelights and 3 Sniperdrones for chip damage.
Fast Attack brings in the standard set of 12 Kroot Hounds for some very cheap models that can hopefully wrap up a ranged threat in melee for a turn, while two Tetras and ten Vespids offer mobility and some decent weapons to get some chip damage in as well.
Heavy Support closes out the list with 3 Broadsides and a Hammerhead for the primary source of Anti-Armor ranged threats, while a Sky Ray Gunship provides some chaff clearing and chip damage.
