Vulkan He’stan is about one of the most gifted Salamanders to ever live, and his quest for the nine relics is the stuff of 40k legend.
This is going to be a quick history of the Salamander’s hero but there is a ton of background on this guy if you want to take a deeper look. He’stan has always been an incredible warrior and is unrelenting on his quest to bring Vulkan back to Nocturne. Grab a hot cup of coffee and let’s learn some more about this crazy Salamander!
Vulkan He’stan: A Fierce Warrior From the Beginning
It’s no surprise he currently resides as the Forgefather of the Salamanders. Ever since he was a Scout, he has been a warrior of renown and his myth has only grown with time. He kicked things off the right way and was the only recruit of his class to capture a unique beast on his hunt. The beast he slew was a mottled tri-horn, among the most vicious and hardest to kill beast on Nocturne. Veteran teams of drake-hunters struggle to kill such a crazy beast yet he did it all by himself.
His skill wasn’t only in combat either. Even as a novice his crafting skill was above and beyond hat of many of his superiors. Elder smiths could do nothing but stop and stare at his masterpieces. From early on the other Marines knew the blood of Vulkan ran through his veins.
The Hope of the Salamanders
The Forgefathers of the Salamanders have a unique burden thrust upon them. It is on them to find the nine relics and bring Vulkan back to the Chapter once again. For Vulkan disappeared mysteriously and they think the relics are the way to bring him back. While many of the other Primarchs are known to be slain, Vulkan may still be out there.
He’stan has taken to this epic quest with vigor and searches far and wide to find the relics. He currently wields three of the relics in battle and they all are filled with awesome power. He will never cease in his quest and the Salamanders think he is finally the one to complete the quest. When he calls, the Salamanders send every single man they can to help him.
The Legend of the Primarch
The old myth is that the relics were spread throughout the Galaxy to test the mettle of the Salamanders. They need to capture all nine relics and bring them back to Nocturne. Once they do, they believe Vulkan will come back to them. They believe not only will he come back, but lead them to victory over all the enemies of the Imperium. If that’s true, maybe the other chapters should just help them look and be done with it all… Either way, He’stan believes the legend fully and will never rest until he has proven the worth of the Salamanders to their missing Primarch.
That does it for this driven warrior! Whether it’s true or not, it would be awesome to see another Primarch join the fray in 40k!
