For much of their history, the T’au were confined to their homeworld, divided into various warring tribes. During one of these periods of conflict, a young T’au visionary named Aun’va emerged and introduced the teachings of the Greater Good. His words resonated with many, leading to the rise of the Ethereal Caste, who became the spiritual and political leaders of the T’au society.

Under the guidance of the Ethereal Caste, the T’au united their fractured society, and their technology advanced rapidly. They developed advanced battlesuits, known as XV8 Crisis Suits, and other cutting-edge weaponry. With a focus on cooperation, diplomacy, and technological innovation, the T’au sought to expand their empire and bring other species into the fold of the Greater Good.
