Top 2 40k Army Lists: The Cool Place RTT Tournament
Thanks to Best Coast Pairings we are able to look back at the event as if we were there ourselves.
2nd Place: Seth Oster- Orks
Starting off with a solid Ork list Seth chose Deathskulls lead by a Warboss on Warbike. These are great as they provide the benefits like rerolls, great combat stats, and even mobility of a bike all in one package. Troops brought a total of 31 Gretchin, which are super cheap bodies that can be used to screen with little worry.
10 Kommandos provide a decent source of good bodies that can do more damage than Gretchin and still provide some bodies to protect better units. 3 Boosta Blastas give the list its first sense of mobility while bringing some chaff clearing to help with screens and blobs.
A total of 4 Scrapjets means this list has plenty of aerial superiority. It also has a great source of mortal wounds when the time comes to crash land these into enemy lines. 3 Dragstas provide more mobility on the ground with great guns to boot.
Enter Now: Win a Space Marine Battleforce!
A total of 15 Storm Boys give a few deep striking models to help with some clutch positions when you might need it. Heavy Support brings a single Kannonwagon, which has a huge volume of fire, but can also transport a few models, primarily a squad of Kommandos. A Blitza-bommer and Burna-bommer offer two more fliers, solidifying the concept of aerial superiority while also getting more mortal wounds to rain on your opponents.
1st Place: Seth Piper- Necrons
This Necron list Seth put together is led by 3 characters. The Catacomb Command Barge, buffs movement and can add 1 to hit to a single unit per turn. The Royal Warden helps buff the movement of core units and allows one unit to shoot and charge after falling back. The Technomancer is one of the Crypteks variants but helps to reanimate some models throughout the game. They also have the nice bonus of a unit of Cryptothralls that don’t take up an org slot and help keep the Technomancer in play.
Troops bring 40 Necron Warriors forming a solid gun line with units that can benefit from the various CORE only abilities from the HQs. The Void Dragon brings a sort of mini-Primarch to the list, as the model can be devastating in melee and can often 1v1 most elite models in the game. Tomb Blades bring some mobility along with a few extra shots per shooting phase. 10 Triarch Praetorians bring decent bodies who are specialized for melee combat.
Lastly, of course, they also took The Silent King. He is simply too good to not take. He offers good buffs and isn’t too shabby on his own as a combatant either.
Necron Victory- Congrats to Seth on the win!
