Another off-meta Warhammer 9th Edition 40k army list emerged in the Crucible 9 Champions GT, check this one out!
9th Edition’s meta is again in flux, but some players are taking lists with units that nobody was expecting. Check out this awesome homebrew list that emerged in a tournament over the weekend. This just goes to show us that sometimes it’s more about the general’s skill than what you play.

Crucible 9 Champions GT: Todd Morrison – Necrons
Todd was brave and took an Army that has fallen pretty out of favor since the newer factions have got their own updates, but that didn’t prevent him from doing well at the Crucible 9 Champions Tournament.
He opted for two detachments with the first being a Spearhead led by a Chronomancer, which are one of the Crypteks variants but help a unit reroll charge rolls to get into melee. Troops see 6 Immortals added for some pretty good ranged weapon support.
Elites see two big threats added with the first being the C’tan Shard of the Nightbringer, who is great in melee and is hard to deal with thanks to its 3 wound per phase cap and 4+ invul. The second threat is a unit of 4 Skorpekh Destroyers, which are just machines in melee if allowed to charge in.
The second detachment is a Spearhead led by another Chronomancer, this time taking advantage of its nice bonus of a unit of Cryptothralls that don’t take up an org slot and help keep the Chronomancers in play.
Elites see another major threat added in the form of a C’tan Shard of the Void Dragon. Once again serving as a monster in melee who is hard to deal with for the same reasons as the Nightbringer, while his weapons and abilities are slightly tweaked, it serves mostly the same purpose.
Finally, for Fast Attack, there are a total of 18 Scarab Swarms, for a whopping 56 wounds, and 15 Wraiths which serve as fast models that can charge and fall back in the same turn making them very evasive.
