The Hee Yaw Texan RTT happened over the weekend with some pretty sweet 40k army lists taking the top spots!
The tournament is over and now we’re able to look at which lists managed to secure a place at the top! Check out what these winners brought in their armies.
Top Warhammer 40k Army Lists: The Hee Yaw Texan RTT
Thanks to Best Coast Pairings we are able to look back at the event as if we were there ourselves.
If you wanted to see the names and factions of the overall winners, we’ve included that below.
3rd Place: Wyatt Turk – Chaos Space Marines
2nd Place: Bryce Chapman – Harlequins
1st Place: Marcus Glowczak – Chaos Daemons
Marcus started off with a battalion of Chaos Daemons led by Be’lakor, a Changecaster, and a Herald of Slaanesh. Be’lakor has been a powerhouse since his re-work with great support and a fantastic melee profile that can decimate foes. The Changecaster is a pretty good psyker and is pretty cheap, while the Herald of Slaanesh is extremely cheap and provides a +1 bonus to Slaanesh Daemons.
Troops bring in a little bit of everything with 48 Bloodletters, 29 Horrors, and 3 Nurglings. The Bloodletters are pretty squishy but can dish out damage if they aren’t weekend before making it to melee. Horrors and Nurglings are pretty durable making them prime candidates for grabbing objectives or locking up units in melee as distractions.
Closing out the Daemon portion of the list there are 2 Beasts of Nurgle, which are actually just another durable unit great for tanking hits, and furies that serve as a mobile harass unit and get the list closer to the perfect 2k point threshold.
The last 1/4 of the list is Chaos Space Marines led by a Sorcerer for their psychic support.
Troops keep it vanilla with a 5 man squad of Chaos Space Marines, just to fil the requirement. A single Chaos Spawn helps get the list right up against the 2k points goal.
Finally closing out the list is a Chaos Fire Raptor Gunship, which will help clear out chaff and constantly dish out pain all game long from the skies.
