Tyranids! Parasite of Mortrex Conversion

Greetings fellow wargamers!  In so far as I know, I am the only person on ebay selling parasites of mortrex right now.  Problem is without any competition on the market, buyers don’t have anything to choose from.

Competition breeds demand.  So what did I do?  I had to figure out a way to compete with myself.  Challenge accepted!

So why the need for a change? Parasites aren’t selling like they used to.  And for the life of me I can’t understand why.  The P.o.M is a SOLID HQ choice for nids.  S6, 4 attacks, 3+ save and 24″ synapse control over ripper swarms!

This guys is a machine!  Plus, he’s one of only 3 IC’s in the entire tyranid army, so you can join him to squads.  Join him up with, say, a carnifex bodyguard, then use rippers to swarm your opponent from 2′ away!  That’s all she wrote!  Winning!

However, back to my personal challenge to well . . me.  My most current iterations of this figure involve Vargheists wings.  You get 3 pairs in the box, 4 if you count the small ones, but wait, there’s snag.  One of the sets of wings are a little ‘weird’.  The lead vargheist has his left wing inverted as though he just threw out the opening pitch at a softball game.  Weird.  In fantasy, this is done for file and rank purposes, but in 40k, it leaves me with a pair of 2 weird wings, one right, one left but that kinda looks right.

The solution was a more dynamic looking parasite, one swooping down on his prey, pinwheeling in midair.  However, now I run into the issue of how to give the creature leverage.  The answer to that was all these spare hive tyrant tails I’ve been amassing from spikey bits.  I was using them for other projects, but they work perfectly well for a parasite tail.  Once you trim it down a bit, fits fight as rain.

For my next trick I’m thinking about using a venomthrope body on one of these.  I love the look of all those poison sacs.  What do you guys think?  Parasite on a venomthrope body?  Could it rock or just ‘meh’ it way through ebay.
