Chaos heretic Knights warhammer 40k codex download pdf revealedAn awesome list emerged in 9th Edition 40k tournaments recently for the big guys- take a look at this list and what it tried to accomplish!

9th Edition’s meta is still settling, but some players are taking the opportunity to innovate and create unique lists. Check out this awesome homebrew list that emerged in a tournament over the weekend. They didn’t do too bad and this just goes to show that it’s more about the general’s skill than what you play. It helps to have some cool interactions and ideas too.

Kingdom Wargames – I Torneo: Chaos- Daniel Garcia

kingdom chaos 1Starting off with this list you may notice that over half the list is stuffed into this first detachment. That’s because there’s a whopping 7 War Dogs Moirax, which are the Forge World version of the normal War Dogs. War Dogs seem pretty underrated, and Daniel wanted to prove that to the max by making them carry his list! 6 of them took Graviton Pulsars which bring heavy D6 shots at S6, -3AP, 2 Damage, and even better, if it shoots at a model with a 3+ save or better the damage goes up to 4!  The Moirax also gets to shoot heavy weapons after moving at no penalty. A 5+ invuln on top of 3+ save, T7, and 12 wounds make each of these pretty hardy as well.

Each of these packs a punch and have the firepower to focus fire units without getting shot down easily themselves.

kingdom chaos 2The second half of the list is mostly supported in the form of a Thousand Sons detachment. A Sorceror and Daemon Prince offer more than enough Psychic support while also being able to deny enemy powers. There are also 2 Helldrakes with flamers to help cull the chaff while the War Dogs can kill the important targets.

chaos spawn modelAnother unique choice in this list is the 14 Chaos Spawn. They are essentially filling in for Nurglings that so many chaos players have come to love. They are a bit more expensive but offer much more melee power than the Nurglings while having less hardiness. The Thousand Sons also have the Fated Mutation strat which allows them to chose what augment they have for a combat phase instead of rolling for it. This can come in the clutch, especially when you need to kill something big on one wound and really need the extra AP.
