Contents List, Pricing, & Release Date

Imperial Knights Combat PatrolIn White Dwarf 509, Games Workshop dropped the Armiger Trailblazers, an Imperial Knights Combat Patrol for Warhammer 40k. But there’s a catch—unlike most combat patrols, this one doesn’t come in a neat, discounted box (well, at least not yet).

The new 2025 Imperial Knights Combat Patrol has a release date of February 22nd, 2025 (when WD 509 hits shelves). Here is a contents list of what comes in the new Warhammer 40k Imperial Knights Combat Patrol box:

Is it Worth It?

Well, if you already play Knights, you’re going to have two Armigers, and it will be nice to also have some CP rules to play with. If you don’t have the minis already, it will be the cheapest combat Patrol out there and a great starting point for an Imperial Knights 40k army; using them in more than one game mode would be fun. This looks like a fun addition and is super worth it! Even if you never build a full Knight army, they can be allied and are super fun to paint!

How Many Points Is This?

So, you’re wondering how many points the Imperial Knights Combat Patrol box racks up, eh? Well, in Warhammer 40k 10th edition, this box hits with about 300 points. But, as you know, the tides of the Grimdark universe are ever-shifting, and with the latest points updates, that number could quickly fluctuate. One minute, you’re ready to dance throughout the galaxy, and the next, you’re recalculating your list because the points gods have decided to have some fun.

Imperial Knights Combat Patrol Contents & Description

armigerThe Armiger Trailblazers is the ultimate combat force drawn from 2 huge miniatures ready to storm the battlefield and obliterate anything in their path. If your enemies thought they could hold the line, they’re in for a rude awakening. Melee mode: activate!

Armigers

Smaller and quicker than their towering cousins, Armiger-class Knights still pack enough firepower to make anything on the battlefield think twice. Piloted by young hotshots or scrappy lowborn drivers, these machines roll out as fast-moving support, flanking threats and making sure the big guys don’t get dogpiled.

They get their marching orders straight from their Knightly overlords via the Helm Mechanicum—basically a psychic group chat with more metal and fewer memes. Among the zippier models, Armiger Helverins stand out as mobile gun platforms, built to light up anything that moves. With twin autocannons pumping out a storm of shots, they’re perfect for shredding heavy infantry or turning light vehicles into scrap in record time.

Imperial Knights Combat Patrol Rules

Imperial Knights Combat Patrol 3Alright, so you’ve got your Combat Patrol box full of angry robot boys, and you’re ready to roll dice and take objectives. But hold up—Armiger Trailblazers don’t play like your usual Imperial Knights. This patrol isn’t about lumbering into the center and daring the enemy to blink. This one’s built for speed, surgical strikes, and yes, a little psychological warfare.

Start with the mission: Gouge a Foothold. You pick one objective as your Primary, your opponent picks a Secondary, and you score based on holding either at the end of the turn. Five points for the easy one, ten for stealing theirs. It’s a constant tug-of-war, and it rewards players who know when to push and when to reposition.

Imperial Knights Combat Patrol 4That’s where your stratagems kick in. Loping Gait lets you bypass enemy screens like they’re not even there. Terrifying Charge hits your opponent right in the morale with a Battle-shock test. And Target Lock? That’s your ticket to ignoring cover and modifiers when you really need something off the board.

You’ve also got enhancement choices that reward focused play. The Servo-Skull Dataleech is perfect for sniping characters and turning them into CP batteries, while the Embedded Auto Medicae gives one of your Warglaives a last-minute burst of durability when things get dicey.

Imperial Knights Combat Patrol 2And don’t ignore those command phase bonuses—extra wounds, fallback-and-shoot, or Objective Control boosts can flip a turn on its head.

This isn’t a patrol for brute force. It’s about calculated aggression with a side of menace. Get in fast, hit hard, and make your opponent second-guess everything. These knights may be small, but they fight like they’ve got something to prove—and they absolutely do.

What to Buy Next?

Imperial Knights Warhammer 40k DetachmentAt this point, you’ll want some more Armigers to buff your forces up, and then you can go for the fun stuff, the big knights! You don’t have a ton of points with this Combat Patrol, so you still need a lot of points, and big knights are fun. So go wild and grab at least two!

Final Thoughts on the Imperial Knights Combat Patrol

If you’re looking to amp up your Warhammer 40k experience, this is an interesting excuse to use models for both full games of 40k and get some extra CP rules. With a solid lineup of miniatures, you’ll be charging into battle with confidence and style.
